Xai Foundation has partnered with web3 game developer Peeking Duck Studios, which will see My Angry Yakuza Girlfriend (MAYG) and all of the studio’s upcoming titles exclusively deploy on gaming L3 Xai.
PC-based MAYG will be the first game to go live. A turn-based third-person shooter multiplayer title, it will particularly focus on growing a female player base through special promotions. Following open beta playtests, MAYG is expected to launch by the end of 2024.
Its team consists of ex-lead at Sega Secret Level Studios Lukasz Drozdek, ex-studio head at Bandai Namco Danny Pisano, and former Asian director of Pokerstars Sinjin David Jung.
“After three years of passion and dedication, we are extremely pleased to find a home on the Xai network that matches our goals for scale and impact in the space. Not only are they backed by proven great technology, but they are led by a native web3 team that truly understands what mainstream adoption takes,” commented MAYG lead designer Jung.
“Our teams share a vision of scaling blockchain-based games to the masses and we’re confident that Peeking Duck’s suite of games offers our community members an experience that will cultivate a wide audience of gamers,” said Xai contributor Soby.
