Building its underlying Lemur server tech for the past six years, Swedish developer Ringtail Interactive has started to reveal more details of Scape, something it describes “a genre-bending MMO and online game creation platform with seamless blockchain integration, coming to PC and mobile”.
Looking like a blockchain-enabled version of Manticore’s Core platform, Scape uses Lemur to enable “Anything-to-Anything” networking. This means that any items (entity) in any experiences deployed by a developer can be used in any other experiences – similar to metaverse functionality.
Scape also recently announced the minting of its 5,000-strong Founding Citizens NFT collection.
These grant holders early access to the Scape project, and other benefits such as unique avatars, whitelists for other NFTs such as apartments, as well as the project’s forthcoming token. In April 2024, the developer launched its first NFT collection The 300.
“I think most web3 gaming enthusiasts agree that the NFT market hasn’t taken off as expected. NFTs have had a bit of a rough time since their rapid ascent in 2020 and 2021. This fact makes our community driven mint an even prouder moment for all of us. As NFTs see more integration in massive projects such as ours, we firmly believe that the future is as bright as its past and we are looking forward to being a part of this next wave,” commented Scape founder and CEO Bastian Geissler.
Scape has also signed a strategic partnership with Pixelmon, although details of the collaboration are yet to be revealed.
“Web3 gaming will only become the decentralized revolution that we’re all envisioning if our communities come together”, said Geissler.
“We are looking forward to seeing playable NFT avatars from other communities on our platform and are opening to onboarding more partners soon.”
