Dota 2’s next hero will be the bird samurai Kez, the Hero of the Revolution. The newest hero coming to Valve’s MOBA was announced at TI13, The International 2024, revealing the feathered fighter just after the conclusion of the Short Film Contest.
In a brief trailer, we were introduced to Kez, head of the Kazurai order, leader of the flightless, and Dota 2’s newest playable character. The New Hero will release with Crownfall Act 4, which will reportedly land later this month (September 24 is expected, but keep track with our guide).
Little is known about the Bird Samurai, Kez, but the hero has been rumored for some time, and was part of the same leaks that revealed Ringmaster/Puppet Master. From first impressions, we expect Kez to be a Strength or Agility melee hero that focuses on mobility and hit and run tactics, but it’s impossible to know at this time!
Kez Release Date
Kez is scheduled to be released in Dota 2 with Crownfall Act 4. We don’t have a full release date for that, but its expected to be Late September, with Sep. 24 as a predicted date.
Kez Lore – Dota 2 Hero
Kez is deeply tied to the recent events of Dota 2 Crownfall special event. In Crownfall, Queen Imperia has banned worship of the goddess Scree’Auk. With no options left, Scree’Auk gave her remaining power to Dragonus (Skywrath Mage) and Shen (Vengeful Spirit) to lead a rebellion against the evil Queen.
To do so they must mobilize the Flightless, an undercast of the Ghastly Eyrie who are born without wings or the ability to fly. The Flightless are oppressed, but the goddess Scree’Auk still cares for them.
Kez, head of the Kazurai order, is leader of the flightless, who has seemingly replaced the two previous leaders, Kraw and Kestral.
More details about Kez will be added as we find them, and the lore will be unraveled!
