Team Spirit will say a (hopefully temporary) goodbye to two of their TI-winning roster as Illya “Raddan” Mulyarchuk and Myroslav “Mira” Kolpakov are taking a break from competitive play. Mira and Raddan (also known as Yatoro), will be moving to Team Spirit’s inactive roster, as per an announcement by the team on social media.
The reason for the break is currently unknown. Both Mira and Yatoro were part of Team Spirit’s TI-winning runs at both TI10 and TI12, as well as a winning performance at Riyadh Masters in 2023. At this year’s International, however, the team were unexpectedly eliminated by G2 x iG in the first match of the Lower Bracket.
This surprise elimination meant that the two-time TI-winners couldn’t compete and attempt to defend their title for more than a single playoff matchup.
In their statement on the departure Team Spirit wished Mira and Yatoro “an excellent rest.”
“These past few years have flown by in a flash, but we remember every moment together – the victories, records, joint achievements, as well as the times spent between tournaments. Thank you for two triumphs at The International, for Riyadh Masters, and for many other tournaments. Thank you for the emotions you’ve given to the fans.”
The departure of these two players leaves Team Spirit with a huge hole in their roster just weeks before three significant Dota 2 tournaments. PGL Wallachia Season 2 is set to start on Oct. 4, and betBoom Dacha Belgrade on Oct. 19. DreamLeague Season 24 qualifiers are also set to take place on Sep. 24.
The short list for potential replacement players doesn’t seem too long right now, but with rumors abound and a short time for announcements, expect to find out who’s replacing Raddan and Mira on Team Spirit sooner rather than later.
