For the first time in a long while, there’s a brand new LTM in Fortnite: Day of Doom. Epic Games has introduced a brand new limited-time mode to go with the current season which is heavily Marvel-centric. The battle pass is full of Marvel characters, the loot pool has Marvel items, and now there’s a Marvel LTM for players to try outside of Battle Royale. Here’s what you need to know for playing it.

Fortnite LTM Day of Doom Guide
To play Day of Doom, you will need to change the game mode. Where you can change between Zero Build, Fortnite Festival, Battle Royale, and other modes, you will find the new LTM since it was made by Epic Games and not a creator. Do that and start the game.
The Day of Doom will be in this Discover section until October 4, since it does have a limited-time nature. This is essentially a two-team mode akin to 50v50. It has 32 players per match, though, so it is actually 16v16. Both teams have health and shield that will regenerate when not fighting. Everyone is also immune to fall damage. Every weapon has unlimited ammo as well.
One side will fight for the Avengers, and they’ll use items like Captain America’s Shield, the new Iron Man Combat Kit, or the Stark Industries Rifle (out of the vault now) to take on Doctor Doom’s side. Those players are tasked with hunting down fragments of Pandora’s Box. Once they have one, that player will become Doom’s Chosen. It’s up to the Avengers to take them down and leave the option up to another of the Henchmen. At that time, Avengers will no longer be able to respawn.
Doom’s Henchmen get the following loadout:
- Doctor Doom’s Arcane Gauntlets
- Combat Assault Rifle (Mythic)
- Monarch Pistol (after the first artifact has been collected; Mythic)
- Sovereign Shotgun (after the second artifact; Mythic)
- Shockwave Grenade
The heroes will have different loadouts for each character. When respawning, you will randomly get Captain America, War Machine, Iron Man, or Black Panther’s loadout, headlined by their special item. This may sound familiar to players and a lot like the Endgame LTM from 2019. That’s because it is. Epic Games said it was inspired by that game mode. The mode arrived in the latest update to Fortnite.
