Day of Doom is the latest Fortnite limited-time mode, harkening back to the classic Avengers Endgame mode from 2019. This time, it’s Doctor Doom and his Doombots against the Avengers Allies. It functions largely the same way, and it has been a massive success since it launched just a couple of days ago.
There were some issues with it, however, as Epic Games has already sent out an update for that mode specifically. Nerfs and buffs were applied to different aspects. Here’s what Epic did.
Fortnite Nerfs, Buffs Parts of Day of Doom LTM
Day of Doom is already one of the most popular LTMs to come around in a long time, perhaps because fans were anxiously waiting for an Avengers mode like the one that debuted for Endgame. Now that it’s here, Epic has already made some changes to make sure it operates at full capacity until it goes away next month. Here are the changes Epic made:
- Heroes’ Max Shield has been increased from 100 to 200
- The Shield Regeneration Cap has been increased from 50 to 150
- The cooldown for the Mythic Shockwave has been increased from seven seconds to 12 seconds
- Doom’s Lightning Ball cooldown was increased from eight seconds to 12 seconds
Many players had been complaining that it was too difficult to win as the Avengers, so Epic has made some changes to lighten their load and make it a little more challenging to have success as the Doom team. Those players are tasked with collecting artifacts of Pandora’s Box. When they do, they become Doctor Doom himself. It is very much like the Thanos Gauntlet from the Endgame limited-time mode, and the heroes have to stop them.

After that, it will go away and there’s no telling if or when another Marvel LTM will come back. Since it had been over four years since the last one, it makes sense to try and play it now before it’s gone forever.
