One of the biggest updates of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season is going to be Fortnitemares. While we don’t have the biggest idea of what the plans are for the rest of the season ahead, there’s always one thing we know is coming in the Autumn. Since every year Epic holds its Halloween blowout. When is the Fortnitemares 2024 update and what can we expect for the event?
We’re currently in Chapter 5 Season 4, the conclusion for our current Chapter of Fortnite. It’s a Marvel-focused season. But thanks to when the season ends, we’ve known this is our Fortnitemares season for quite a while. This will mean a major event is coming next month. So far, we’ve seen quite a few Fortnite leaks about the Halloween spectacular, but a lot is still shrouded in mystery.
What’s Coming in the Event?
Looking ahead to Fortnitemares 2024, there are a few different features we’re expecting. Most unknown right now is gameplay. Fortnitemares is a time when Epic typically makes major changes to Battle Royale. We’ve had werewolf transformations, ghosts, and second chances for players, loads of different and creative content. Last year was a bit duller though, with no real gameplay changes outside of perma-night and a boss from the Battle Pass getting updated.
Hopefully, this season we’re due to get a bit more for Fortnitemares. It’ll be good at least to get classic Halloween items back like the Witch’s Broom and Pumpkin Launcher.
Over in the item shop, we’re expecting more Halloween skins. Likely the return of past skins like Michael Myers and Jack Skellington. However, we’ll have to hold on to see what collabs come this year! There’s been some interesting ones in Fortnite leaks so far.
When is the Fortnitemares 2024 Update?
When exactly can we expect the Fortnitemares update to actually arrive in the game? There are two update dates where we could see the event start.
October 1st is the most likely candidate. This would give us a full month of Fortnitemares content! However, if the event is smaller this year there is another Fortnite update scheduled for October 15th which could work too. Either of these dates could work before we move on to Fortnite OG.
