A blind Fortnite player has just done something not everyone can do: win a Battle Royale game. The precious Victory Royale banner doesn’t show up often for some players very often, and it’s a treat whenever it does. Winning a 100-player PvP match is hard enough for anyone, let alone those who cannot see. But one gamer overcame that struggle to record a Victory Royale in an improbable and impressive fashion.
Blind Fortnite Player Wins Game
A Fortnite player on Reddit explained that they have a motor control disability and are legally blind. Thanks to a loadout of the Legendary Hyper SMG, Captain America’s Shield, War Machine’s Arsenal and Hover Jets, and Shuri’s Black Panther Claws, they were able to achieve something very impressive.
The player’s post detailed that the Arsenal and Black Panther Claws make it a lot easier to play since they don’t require precise aim. This is advantageous to this player, who isn’t sure how things will go in a new season with different items.
Legally blind is any eyesight worse than 20/200, which this player has. They also suffer from Chiari malformation, a disease that puts pressure on the brain. It can cause hands to shake and double vision. All of these things were hampering this Fortnite player when they were somehow able to win a match.
The stats posted in the original post detail that lack of aim, as there were no headshots. They did get 10 eliminations, which is more than a lot of players earn in a match. In total, the accuracy was 60% and they dealt nearly 2,000 damage to other players.
Fortnite may have just gained a player, as they detailed in the caption that they “love” the game now. Again, this could change with a loot pool alteration, as the items they used are primarily Marvel-themed, which will go away once the current season ends. At least before that happens, this blind Fortnite player earned a win. They likely won’t forget that for a very long time.
