Sony held its latest PlayStation State of Play presentation on September 24, giving fans a preview of what’s coming to PlayStation in the next few months. Along with some expected announcements, and some trailers of games we already knew about, there were some brand new announcements.
And while there was nothing about the PS6 (and just a bit about the upgraded PS5 pro) But if you don’t have time to pour through an almost hour long presentation of upcoming games we’ve got you covered. Here’s the biggest reveal of the Sep. 24 State of Play.
State of Play September Biggest Announcements
Astrobot DLC
Astrobot was a breakout hit this year, with one of PlayStation’s first successful mascot characters in years getting universal acclaim. Now the little robot who seemingly runs off PlayStation nostalgia alone is getting five new speedrun levels and 10 new bots to rescue!
Palworld for PS5
PocketPair might be in the midst of an ugly lawsuit with Nintendo, but Palworld, the surprise hit from earlier this year is still steaming ahead at full speed, and is getting a PS5 port and it’s out… Today! You can buy and download Palworld for PS5 and see how this game is just a little bit more than just Pokémon with guns.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins Release Date
We’re suckers for Dynasty Warrior games, having been hooked since PS2. Dynasty Warrior Origins looks like an incredible addition to the series, and we now have a release date: Jan. 17. That’s really not that long to wait – it works out at around 16 weeks. So get ready for some more Mushu madness from this frantic soldier-mass-murder simulator.
Horizon Dawn Zero Remastered (Oct. 31)
One of PlayStation’s crowning glories this past decade has been the breakout success of Horizon and its sequel. And why not update the PS4 classic for the latest generation? This is a full remaster of the open world masterpiece by Guerilla Games.
Ghost of Yōtei, Ghost of Tsushima Sequel
Perhaps the biggest single announcement of the whole event was a game that’s managed to be kept under wraps for some time: A Ghost of Tsushima sequel called Ghost of Yōtei . While Ghost of Tsushima fully immersed players in Tsushima Island and the invasion from the Mongols, Ghost of Yotei takes you to the snowy peaks of Mount Yōtei in Hokkaido, where presumably, you’ll once again have to repel fearsome invaders, perhaps this time from the northern wastes.
