Fortnite is reportedly going to introduce two new game modes. Over the years, they’ve slowly added more and more. What began as a PvE game adopted a Battle Royale mode, and things just took off from there. It has really grown in the current chapter, and it looks like Epic Games is going to push the envelope even further. Here’s what we know.
Epic Games Adding 2 Fortnite Modes
According to leaker ShiinaBR, Epic Games is going to introduce two new game modes, one of which is a “new version of Fortnite: Reload.” The second does not have any description right now, but it is confirmed to be an “entirely new game mode” and that it will drop this year. There are currently very few Fortnite leaks surrounding what this game mode might entail. Either way, the game is set to grow even more after the massive expansion that Chapter 5 brought on.
If the new mode is coming in 2024, then it makes sense for Epic to follow the same pattern they did with others. An OG season, which in this case is Chapter 2 OG, comes and goes. Then, new game modes are introduced with the new chapter, which is, in this case, Chapter 6.
Current Fortnite Game Modes
Currently, there are eight main game modes within Fortnite. There is the standard Battle Royale and Zero Build, which are two distinct versions of essentially the same game. Then things get different.
Reload is a respawn game where players fight until their team is entirely eliminated on a smaller island with a unique loot pool. Fortnite Festival was introduced in Chapter 5, and it allows players to essentially play Guitar Hero.
LEGO Fortnite was also introduced at the beginning of Chapter 5, as was Rocket Racing. Rocket Racing is Epic Games’ version of Mario Kart or another standard racing game. LEGO Fortnite is a survival sandbox game similar to Minecraft.
Finally, there’s Creative mode, which may be cheating a bit. Creative is one of the eight modes, but there are so many different maps and games to play within it. Save the World is the final alternative game mode, but it is not a free mode like the other seven are. Either way, there’s already so much to play in Fortnite, but they seem intent on adding even more to it.
