Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is one of the most anticipated new fighting game releases. It’s a spiritual successor to one of the most popular series released under the Dragon Ball label, but times have changed since Budokai Tenkaichi though. Increasingly, players come together through online gameplay only, sometimes spread across different platforms. Will there be Sparking Zero crossplay to allow you to play with others?
Sparking Zero is launching with tons of features. For a start, there’s the massive roster its getting, with nearly every character under the sun. However, playing with friends might be first on a lot of people’s minds. Since this is such a nostalgic release, can we expect more features like cross platform multiplayer to be available with the title?
Is Sparking Zero Crossplay?
At launch, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero crossplay will not be included with the title. The game isn’t planning on offering the chance to play with friends from Day One.
This has been confirmed on an official website for the title, so we know it’s being left out. Just like with FighterZ crossplay, there won’t be an option here to play with other platforms.
Will Sparking Zero Come Later?
Even if Sparking Zero crossplay won’t be included from launch, that doesn’t mean it’ll never happen to the game, we could see it added in later as an additional feature.
There’s no way of knowing if this is planned. However, we do expect Sparkling Zero to receive quite a bit of post-launch support in way of DLC and more characters. We could definitely see additional features like Sparking Zero crossplay added in later. Some of the best fighting games didn’t get crossplay until a later patch.
Developers of this game have said crossplay would be “difficult” to implement. However, it could still arrive down the line. Fans might just have to hope for the feature in the meantime.
What is Crossplay?
Crossplay is a pretty important feature in modern fighting games. It’s a system where you can play with and against friends on any platform. So it doesn’t matter if you’re on PC or any of the major consoles, you can still group up together or go head to head.
It’s increasingly becoming the standard to include crossplay, especially in fighting games where PCs aren’t quite as dominant as in shooters. However, Sparking Zero crossplay won’t be available for players this time.
