Halo Infinite fans, rejoice: 343 Industries has confirmed that the HCS esports circuit is returning in 2025. This will mark year 4 of the HCS, after some concern among the community that 2024 would be the last of its kind.
HCS to make 2025 return
At the ongoing Halo World Championship 2024, it was finally confirmed that the HCS circuit will continue to run for a fourth year throughout 2025. This will follow the usual HCS formula, with several Majors ran throughout the year, finally culminating in the Halo World Championship 2025. It was also confirmed that the gargantuan $1,000,000 prize pool for the Halo World Championship will remain in place, keeping the scene mega competitive for at least another year.
There had been concern among the community that 343 Industries would not bring the HCS circuit back next year. While the developer continues to update the game with new content (and even recently announced a third-person mode), its popularity outside of anyone but a hardcore community is debatable. However, it’s great to see that the fans are getting another year of Halo at the highest level, officially supported with huge prize pools.
HCS 2025 changes
As of right now, we’re short on any details about whether HCS 2025 will bring any big changes to the format. Meta changes could be interesting, and it would be great to see the map rotations changed a little. I’m hoping for BR starts, but that’s the Halo 2 and 3 fanboy in me hoping and praying.
