In honor of its founder, luxury brand Louis Vuitton launched blockchain-based mobile application Louis the Game on Wednesday, August 4th, recognizing his 200th birthday.
The game is a fun way to learn about the fascinating life of Louis Vuitton a by taking a journey through six different periods of his life while attempting to find and collect 200 birthday candles along the way.
In addition to scouring the virtual countryside for 19 of the 200 total candles, you can also find 30 collectible NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), 10 of which were designed by Beeple, the famed digital artist. Although the NFT’s are amazing and fun to find throughout the game, they cannot be sold after collecting them.
The game is played as protagonist Vivienne, the Louis Vuitton (LV) brand mascot. You can customize Vivienne’s style with a number of different LV prints.
In story mode, the game starts in a luscious green woodland, reminiscent of Louis Vuitton’s childhood home in Anchay, located in the French Jura. Here, players are introduced to the gameplay, learning to move, look around, and jump.
And then the fun begins as you start your search for the 200 Louis Vuitton emblem-printed candles.
Each candle found unlocks a new postcard, featuring historical facts regarding Louis Vuitton’s early life and journey to success, the history of the brand, and more.
Vivienne must collect all candles to unlock the key to the Louis Vuitton trunk to proceed to the next level and unlock more gameplay actions (e.g., wall climbing, double jump).
Louis Vuitton traveled from his home to Paris, France, at age 13, arriving in Paris after two years. Here, he began an apprenticeship with a packing specialist.
In the second level, Vivienne makes her journey to Paris via hot air balloon, with a pretty magnificent view!
Here, explore the city, climb the Eiffel Tower, and ride the Roue de Paris — all while collecting candles and LV history.
In addition to candles, Vivienne can find 14 different Louis Vuitton accessories, including sunglasses, hats, and jewelry.
Gamers also can play Time Trial, where Vivienne must collect the level’s candles as fast as possible.
Louis the Game is free to play and should be enjoyable for all gamers, whether or not they are familiar with the Louis Vuitton brand when they begin.
Playing Louis the Game is not only fun and challenging, but it allows players to learn about the fascinating life of Louis Vuitton and the history of the brand.
