This is what you need to know about the Americas Challengers tournament, the competition that will see teams compete for a prize pool of $75,000.
Americas Challengers – Introduction
Taking place at the Riot Games Arena (CBLOL Arena) in São Paulo, Brazil, the Americas Challengers is a multi-day tournament where six of the best teams across the Americas tier 2 scene will compete. It’s worth mentioning, however, that this competition will not have an impact on the 2025 guest slots in the new Americas League, which reunites North America and South America into one major region.
Schedule and Format
The tournament will be taking place across one week from September 14 to September 21, a few days before the start of the League of Legends 2024 World Championship. The format will see a single round-robin best-of-one Group Stage, with the top four teams advancing to a double-elimination Knockout Stage.
At this stage, matches will be Bo3, except for the Finals and Lower Bracket Round 2, which are going to be Bo5. Most importantly, however, all of them will feature the “fearless draft” mode, meaning that a champion can only be picked once during the match and not picked again for the rest of the series.
The schedule will be as follows:
- Groups – Sept. 14-16
- Knockouts – Sept. 18-20
- Finals – Sept. 21.
Matches will begin at 1 pm PT (22:00 CET) each day.
