Call of Duty Black Ops 6 has long been one of the most exciting games on the release slate for 2025. In a year with new Dragon Age, The Legend of Zelda, Dragon Ball, Final Fantasy, Like a Dragon, and so much more, it has long been the new CoD that stood out. The last few games have been a little disappointing, but that hasn’t stopped everyone from getting excited for this one. At long last, it is almost here, so here’s everything you need to know ahead of launch.
Black Ops 6 Release Date
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is set to officially be released on October 25. There is no early access period for any of the game modes available in this game, so all players will begin playing at the same time. This is based on local time, so midnight on October 25 is the release date for Black Ops 6 wherever you are. Some players may use the New Zealand trick, but either way, the game comes out for everyone whenever it turns to the 25th. That’s this Friday, but you can preorder.
Platforms
Unlike most new games, Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is not current-gen exclusive. So many developers have left the old consoles behind, but not Activision. BO6 will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. For those on either Xbox platform, it is going to be available there on Game Pass on launch day.
Black Ops 6 Trailer
The marketing for Black Ops 6 has been impressive. They’ve put out teasers and trailers, like the one above, which came out four months ago. It showcases all the modes and gameplay players can expect to see. Other marketing includes incredible teasers using real-life historical events, suggesting that the campaign mode in this game is getting back to CoD’s roots. Either way, there’s a lot to be excited for just based on what Activision has already shown off.
Details
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is a first-person shooter game that was developed by Treyarch and Raven Software. It is, like most Call of Duty games, being published by Activision. While there is excitement that this game will break the rut of poor CoD games, it is going to function the same way as the other ones. There will be a multiplayer mode where players compete in PvP bouts with other players. Zombies is back from Treyarch and will be round-based once again. Finally, the campaign mode will feature a story-driven, single-player option.
