Casio: the launch of NFT VIRTUAL G-SHOCK and the incentives and opportunities for owners
Casio officially launched today the new NFT VIRTUAL G-SHOCK collection, announcing new incentives and opportunities for those who purchase them.
“Started in September 2023, the VIRTUAL NFT G-SHOCK (available in a limited edition of 2,000 NFTs) will be available on December 14th at 10:00 AM EST.”
The new collection signed by Casio consists of 2000 NFT VIRTUAL G-SHOCK, minted on the Ethereum blockchain.
On the official website, the benefits that NFT owners will have are also described, which include a behind-the-scenes tour and early access to future VIRTUAL G-SHOCK products.
Specifically, those who purchase an NFT from the VIRTUAL G-SHOCK collection will be able to visit the G-SHOCK Endurance Test Laboratory and participate in the creators’ roundtable. Not only that, there is also the opportunity to access the data of the VIRTUAL G-SHOCK NFT VGA-001/002 DESIGN MANUAL and discuss its contents.
Finally, owning one of the two VGA-001/002 will entitle you to early purchase of the next available VIRTUAL G-SHOCK product.
Casio and digital NFT art: future predictions
The Japanese multinational electronics giant Casio Computer Co., Ltd. is increasingly relying on the world of NFT digital art, even to engage collectors more.
And indeed, this initiative aims to showcase a unique mix of community, innovation, and the G-SHOCK brand heritage. In the future, Casio may also collaborate with collectors to co-create Casio digital products and further bridge the gap between the digital and tangible world.
In this regard, Oh Takahashi, Senior General Manager of Timepieces at Casio, said:
“These special incentives for collectors demonstrate our passion for innovation both in the digital world and in the physical one. Our goal is to deepen the involvement of the G-SHOCK community, bringing it to the heart of our innovation process with personal experiences such as the laboratory tour and pioneering digital adventures. It is our way of celebrating and expanding the G-SHOCK legacy in this new digital era, remaining true to the tangible craftsmanship and innovation for which our brand is known.”
Collaboration with Polygon
Last September, Casio released its virtual G-SHOCK watch, in NFT format, but developed on the Polygon blockchain.
Already at that moment, the collection focused on the interaction between the brand and the users, to the point that the electronics giant had offered the G-SHOCK CREATOR PASS to allow collectors to develop their own NFT designs.
Casio had chosen Polygon because it allows lightning-fast transactions for minting and managing its own NFTs, becoming cost-effective, emission-free, and seamless.
