It’s not a good look for the new OG roster, which failed to qualify for the DreamLeague Season 24. The new roster features notable players, such as Nuengnara “23” Teeramahanon and Leon “Nine” Kirilin. As a result, OG fans were disappointed by the performance of this talent-packed Dota 2 roster.

Team OG participated in the Western Europe regional qualifier of DreamLeague S24 via invitation. Yet, they lost their first series to Palianytsia. On paper, Palianytsia is team of unknowns from the open qualifier, so fans were upset that OG lost to a team with a player called Mykhailo “fortniteMan” Pylypenko.

Despite the early drop to lower bracket, OG did manage to advance till they got a rematch versus Palianytsia. Unfortunately, Palianytsia gave them yet another beatdown with a clean 2-0 sweep.

Looking back at the matches, OG was all over the place, often getting caught out by Palianytsia’s pursuits. OG’s support duos weren’t doing enough to counter their opponents’ jumps on OG’s core players, causing teamfights to be disastrous for OG.

23 and Nine are by no means bad players, as they were able to keep up with the pace of the game in terms of net worth and farm. However, fights often lead to team wipes, which OG never had the opportunity to win any throughout the entire match.

Who is Team Palianytsia?

With OG out of the running for DreamLeague S24, they will have plenty of time to recuperate and re-evaluate their new Dota 2 roster changes.

Meanwhile, Team Palianytsia deserves the spotlight for successfully qualifying for their first major tournament. The list of DreamLeague S24 qualified teams includes The International (TI) Champions and seasoned powerhouses from multiple regions. Palianytsia is making their debut in arguably their toughest tournament yet.

Again, this Ukrainian squad is a bunch of unknown players, except for Vladyslav “Crystallize” Krystanek. As a result, it would be interesting to see how they fair up against the competition at DreamLeague S24.

LoL Patch 14.20 – More champion changes coming for Worlds!

Patch 14.19 came out just in time for Worlds 2024, bringing one of the biggest updates we’ve seen all year long. Aside from various champion buffs and nerfs, the patch has brought in a lot of small item changes with the goal of slowing down the champions’ ramp-up of stats upon hitting the item completion.

It looks like the changes have reached the desired effect, with fights and skirmishes lasting longer without necessarily impacting the game time due to the increased death timers early on. While we monitor the current patch, Riot Games developers have already turned their eyes to the new update, which will bring more champion changes. Be aware that the Worlds Knockout stage will be on Patch 14.21, meaning that some of these adjustments might also have a direct impact later in the tournament. Below you can find the list of planned changes, as leaked by game designer Riot Phroxzon.

Patch 14.20 Release Date

According to the official patch schedule, Patch 14.20 will be released on Wednesday, October 9. This will be the 20th patch out of the 24 updates planned for the year.

This was the last Tekken game released for the platform. The mod can add in some of the functionality and features of Tekken 7, but played on Tekken 6.

To download Tekken 7 on PPSSPP, you’ll need to first find an ISO file for Tekken 6. Then install JV Sensei’s mod pack to upgrade it up to Tekken 7. You can then play the modded version of the game in PPSSPP.

It’s a shame there isn’t an official version of Tekken 7 available as an Android mobile game. However, with this mod workaround, you’re able to play a facsimile of the game on the platform.

Riding on the momentum surrounding Hamster Kombat, Catizen, and other tappy games on Telegram, TON Foundation and partner companies have kicked off the largest game hackathon on TON.

Called GameOn TON, the hackathon aims to accelerate the development of web3 games built on TON, while also drive adoption of the AEON payment protocol.

Running from 19th September to 13th December 2024, it contains a total prize pool of $4 million, offering a variation of grants, direct investments and other rewards. AEON and TON will contribute $2 million in total. Alibaba brings $1 million in grants and cloud server benefits, while Gate.io adds $1 million towards investments and grants.

20 teams will share a total pool of $900,000 in prizes, with larger rewards for the top three.

The event is hosted by AEON, TON Foundation, Nomad Capital and TOP, with co-hosts including OKX Wallet, Alibaba Cloud, Gate.io, Draper Associates, Gam3Girl Ventures, and Winking Studios. Together these will host virtual sessions in combination with offline events in major cities like Singapore, Sydney, and Dubai.

A preliminary schedule has been released, with the last date for registration being 14th November, followed by the last day of submissions being 18th November. 

As for other key events, on

• 30th October there will be a developer bootcamp in Dubai,
• 23rd November 1200 semi-finalists will be announced in Sydney,
• 10th December 20 finalist will be announced, and
• 13th December is the closing event in Dubai where the winner will be revealed.

Among other requirements, teams looking to take part must build their games on Telegram Mini Apps and integrate AEON’s crypto-payment protocol.

So far, most mini apps on Telegram with TON-integration have had simple tapping features and generated traction for their rewards-based systems. Although clearly a model that’s turned out well for the ecosystem in the short turn, it will be interesting to see if the outcome of the hackathon will add more diversity to the genre of games deploying on TON.

The PlayStation Network (PSN) experienced a global shortage that left players unable to access many services. The outage, which started on October 1st, affected several PlayStation consoles. PlayStation made a statement assuring gamers they were working on the issue as players inquired about the services returning to normalcy.

The PlayStation network experienced its first major outage since the last PlayStation Network (PSN) outage on July 1st, 2024. The outage has been ongoing for several hours, and players around the world have been filing complaints.

The PSN outage that started at 4:21 AM (UTC) affected all PlayStation services except for PlayStation Direct. According to the official PlayStation Network service status page, services, including account management, gaming, social media, the PlayStation Store, and PlayStation video, were down. The outage resulted in players experiencing difficulties while trying to sign in, create accounts, or edit their account details. Players worldwide have reported the issue, which is reminiscent of earlier this year’s outage.

PlayStation stated that players may also experience difficulties launching apps, games, and network features, purchasing products, and accessing PlayStation video content on the listed platforms. They urged players to be patient as the company worked to resolve the issue. According to PlayStation, the outage will affect the PS Vita, PS3, PS4, PS5, and the Web platforms. However, despite the assurance, there has been no time frame for a fix to be rolled out. 

While the situation continues, there are no official reports of what caused the global outage. The situation resulted in players from around the world continuing to post status reports online. Players from the US, UK, China, Germany, Japan, and Spain have taken their frustrations online, many tagging the posts with photos of the error messages. The situation matched what occurred during the July PSN outage when the issue was fixed, and services returned to normal on the same day.

As the PSN outage continued, players were quick to express their frustrations online. Many players openly criticized PlayStation and its parent company, Sony. Most players called out the company for limiting their access to games they had purchased. GenericcJose identified the situation as problematic, as they couldn’t play the games purchased if they were not connected to the PlayStation Network (PSN). 

More players contributed to the conversation, stating that the outage was proof that players should avoid digital purchases and instead buy physical games. Alphacraph3 noted that the PlayStation Network (PSN) outage was a reminder that even if players had made digital purchases, they did not own anything, making the push for digital purchases a bad idea.

The upcoming Patch 9.08 will surely disappoint all Cypher mains. Major changes in the B site will be deployed in the next patch. The changes aim to balance out Cypher on his strongest map, Sunset. B site is the home ground for Cypher mains and Riot Games recognizes that he might be a little too overpowered.

Cypher has always been present in the draft whenever Sunset is played in the pro scene. He sits alone on the Valorant tier list for this map. As of now, no sentinel can defend the sites better than Cypher. Even in ranked games, it’s safe to assume that there will always be a Cypher pick. This is the main reason why players try to counter him as early as the drafting stage, picking agents that can break his traps or disable him. With the new changes, it will be more challenging for Cypher players to defend the site.

At the B site’s entrance, the left box where Defenders can play high and low angles will be removed. The box that protects Attackers at the entrance for possible smoke spam was also removed. It will be interesting to see what new post-plant meta will emerge due to this change.

A cubby was also added to the middle pillar. It will provide a safe zone for Attackers to plant the spike without the fear of getting spammed through the smoke from the B Market player. It will also give the Attackers better options for post-plant positions.

Riot will also add a wall on the right platform and the box near the Boba entry will be relocated. Minor changes at mid will also be deployed. The corner box will move slightly and give a sneaky spot to Defenders who will push mid.

Fans, especially Cypher mains, voiced out their concerns and said that it is the end of an era. At the same time, some fans pointed out that the changes do not solve the “post-plant spamming” meta.

These changes will be available on Patch 9.08. Fans are hoping to see a shift in meta once these changes go live. Players will be able to try other Sentinels and Initiators aside from the go-to Sunset lineup.

New Valorant Map Pool will also be rolled out; Icebox and Lotus will be out of the poll while Split and Pearl will be joining the rotation again. Riot also announced that there will be a new cadence for map rotations. They will release specific details soon.

Esports.net: Last year you entered Worlds as a favorite. This yeah you similarly enter amongst the favorites, but on a completely different team.

What’s the difference in atmosphere heading into Worlds 2024 compared to 2023?

Knight: So for me, for BLG, this Worlds will be a good performance in my opinion because our training form, our communication – all of these things are in very good form.

Lee Jones: After losing the MSI final to Gen.G, BLG’s performances LPL performances have gotten better while Gen.G failed to win LCK summer.

Do you think BLG are the favorites for Worlds now?

Knight: So regarding MSI, I’d just joined BLG for about half the year, so we didn’t have very good synergy at that time and it seemed like we were the weak side facing them.

But for now, we just won the Summer title and we are definitely not afraid of them.

It’s hard to say who will win Worlds, who is the favourite. But in my opinion, I think both of us are very good teams and the key point is how we adjust on form during the tournament.

Lee Jones: Despite the earlier scare, it’s now confirmed that Scout can attend Worlds with LNG, however at one stage, it looked like your friend and rival Yagao was going to substitute in for him.

What was your reaction to that whole situation, and are you disappointed not to see Yagao at Worlds after all?

Knight: For me, I do not know the whole page of this thing, so I don’t want to comment much. But for Yagao, I have very good relationship with him and I saw he was just very close to competing at Worlds. I was a little bit sorry for him not qualifying for Worlds, but I believe he will perform better if he can qualify.

Have you been watching them in Play-Ins? What do you think about them?

Knight: Yes, I watched the Play-Ins matches of MDK. MDK is a team that really likes to do lane-swapping, and they are in very good form when their AD picks Jinx and the mid laner picks Syndra.

What are your thoughts on the LEC mid laners at Worlds; Caps, Humanoid and Fresskowy?
So for me, Caps is definitely the European mid laner that impressed me a lot.

For the MDK mid laner, this is the first time I’ll face him so it’s hard to evaluate him before I’ve played against him.

Lee Jones: Before the tournament, many were theorizing about how the Worlds patch could be good for some teams and bad for others.

How do you think it suits BLG?

So I think the patch changes for BLG has pros and cons. For me, some of the champs I’m very good at it are nerfed, some of them are buffed. For BLG, not too many changes.

How To Get the Hippo Calf Minion in FFXIV

Luckily there’s no long FFXIV raid series to complete to unlock this minion! To get the Hippo Calf Minion in FFXIV and claim your very own Moo Deng look-alike, all you need to do is to have unlocked the Vanaspati Dungeon in Endwalker. This is the level 85 dungeon, and requires an item level of 510.

The Hippo Calf is a rare drop at the end of the dungeon. It won’t drop 100% of the time, and when it does, you’ll have to roll on it if you’re in a party. One way to get around this is to run the dungeon with a Trust or other NPCs. That way, if the hippo does drop, you’re not competing with anyone. This can be a little slower, as NPCs don’t tend to attack with AoE or heal very well, but it’s possible.

Alternatively, well… just pay the gil! At the time of writing it’s a few hundred thousand gil on the market board, but we bet with a bit of time and as Moo Deng’s popularity fades, the price will fall.

Now you might be reading this and wondering what on earth is Moo Deng? Moo Deng is a baby hippo from Thailand’s Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi. The hippo’s hilarious facial expressions and wide eyes instantly gave it global popularity. Roughly translated as “bouncy pork,” Moo Deng has seen its home attract record attendance. And while we don’t know if Moo Deng will have as much longevity as a viral hit as some other famous memes, they sure are adorable.

In Final Fantasy XIV, fans have decided to show their appreciation for Moo Deng by equipping the baby Hippo Calf minion. DreamLeague S24 Qualified Teams

AVULUS

Hailing from Western Europe, AVULUS is the first to qualify from this region. WEU is notoriously known for its tougher competition, especially with high-profile teams competing in the same qualifier, such as Team OG and MOUZ.

While many are calling it a fluke since AVULUS did not bump into these promising teams, we have to give AVULUS credit where it’s due. The line-up has some serious talents in it, such as Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev and Daniel “Stormstormer” Schoetzau, to name a few. Speaking of  “promising” teams, OG became the laughing stock at the DreamLeague S24 after losing to a team with a player called, fortniteMan.

BandaNoone (formerly known as Cloud9)

Meanwhile, in Eastern Europe, BandaNoone sweeps the qualifier with ease. They are ex-Cloud9 players, who are competing under a temporary name, likely due to contract renewal concerns.

Azure Ray

In China, Azure Ray narrowly defeats Team Zero to claim the only China qualifier slot. Although Team Zero has a new player after the post-TI roster shuffle, they are still a challenging opponent to win against. As such, it certainly puts Azure Ray in the spotlight for their recent improvements.

Talon Esports

Talon Esports has shocked everyone’s expectations by coming out on top of the Southeast Asia qualifier against Aurora Gaming. The latter, which won seventh at TI13, has undergone some serious roster change, making them a husk of its former glory. On a different note, Talon Esports brought Carlo “Kuku” Palad in as their stand-in hard support player, which might have level up Talon’s performance.

HEROIC

Over at South America, HEROIC confidently qualified for the slot. Considering they last placed at TI13 and placed ninth, they are certainly one of the more reliable candidates in DreamLeague S24. Note that they recently replaced their hard carry player with David “Parker” Nicho Flores, so opponents will have to be wary of the young talent’s skills.

Nigma Galaxy

Nigma managed to make it through the MESWA without much trouble, partly due to the closed qualifiers featuring six forfeits and two disqualifications. The team’s final opponents, Zone Academy, reached the finals with a record of one loss and zero wins, with all of their other opponents forfeiting.

The DreamLeague S24 might have come too early, according to Dota 2 esports teams, which are still making roster change decisions. Nevertheless, it’s a good glimpse of the current competition that will unfold from October 27 to November 10.

One big surprise ahead of the most recent Fortnite update was a trailer being released for an upcoming collaboration. It’s not this season’s event pass, but instead a Fortnite X Shaq crossover. This new skin will be part of the Fortnite Icon Series!

Shaq is best known for his time as a Basketball player, being one of the greatest players ever. He’ll join quite a few sports stars who already have Fortnite skins. Past though, Shaq has become pretty widely known outside of the court. Appearing in films, hosting a podcast and reality show, and other work. He’s definitely a fitting addition to the Icon Series.

When Will the Icon Skin Release?

The Fortnite Shaq skin is the next addition to the Icon Series, but when can we expect it? At the moment, it’s scheduled for October 4th. That’s from initial Fortnite leaks about when it’ll be added. This date could change, it could arrive at any point after Tuesday’s update!
