CoD Mobile is one of the most loved mobile FPS titles out there. Activision has been able to maintain a large community for the game by listening and engaging with them on Discord and Reddit while also releasing monthly new seasons with tons of new content. Now, Activision has made a change to the Avatar in COD Mobile as it no longer lets you use your Facebook profile picture.
Many people used to link their COD Mobile accounts to Facebook and get the profile picture from the game. As a result, they were able to use a highly-customized image as their avatars. With this change, however, players won’t be able to do that anymore, and here’s why.
COD Mobile Avatar will no longer feature Facebook Profile Pictures
Activision only revealed about the change through the Activision Support page and the company didn’t speak about the reason for its removal. However, this change was done to moderate the in-game experience as many people were using vulgar images on their Facebook which was showing up as their COD Mobile avatar.
COD Mobile players, however, weren’t happy with this decision. Many Reddit comments have pointed towards only a small number of people using NSFW images, but the entire community is being punished for that.
Activision’s decision does seem like the right move, though, given the fact that it has no control over Facebook images.
That being said, many players felt that the developer could add an extra layer of verification when Facebook profile pictures are added as COD Mobile avatars. It remains to be seen if this is ever done.
In the meantime, you will have to use the avatars available in COD Mobile. You can unlock new ones through Battle Pass tiers, crates, bundles, and draws, and even unlock them for free through challenges.
