Continuing to build web3 features into its existing games, South Korean outfit Com2uS has now launched mobile-based RPG Heir of Light: Eclipse onto its native gaming blockchain XPLA. Alongside the launch, it’s also integrated the new JAM token, adding utility to the overall XPLA ecosystem.
Serving as the in-game utility token in Heir of Light: Eclipse, JAM can be converted for non-cryptocurrency Fagin Coins, which can be earned in-game.
In addition, the game entails Membership Points, a currency obtained through in-game purchases and NFT benefits. Membership Points can also be used for crafting Exchange Tickets, which in turn unlock different in-game exchanges containing items such as higher-level tickets and Fagin Coins.
By using their XPLA Wallet, players get access to a convert pool where Fagin Coins can be exchanged for JAM tokens. These can be used across the XPLA ecosystem, although this integration hasn’t yet happened. It’s due in late June or early July.
To create token balance and sustainability, the game has a buy-back system allowing Com2uS to generate revenue through in-game purchases. That revenue will be used to buy JAM tokens which will be stored in a reserve pool, which will then be utilized in the convert pool.
Essentially, the reserve pool and the convert pool enables a fixed convert ratio of Fagin Coin:JAM. The JAM token’s distribution is shown below.
In terms of the game itself, it’s a mobile-based multiplayer RPG. Players can climb the ranks by beating progressively challenging enemies through 5v5 battles. With various levels of difficulties and modes ranging across PVE, PVP and boss battles, players can earn more loot by upgrading their teams. Rewards are based on their overall rankings.
In related news, XPLA recently launched its L2 chain called XPLA Verse on Japanese gaming blockchain Oasys, bringing Com2uS’ titles The Walking Dead All Stars and Summoners War: Chronicles to the Oasys ecosystem.
