Switzerland-based developer Dacoco has unveiled a new generative AI tool that enables users to create their own story-driven content.
With Lynx AI, as the tool is called, users can build on the original Alien Worlds lore created by sci-fi author Kevin J. Anderson – known for Dune, Star Wars, and more – adding to the existing narrative of the Alien Worlds universe, of which Lynx is claimed to be an expert.
For instance, it can be queried as a virtual librarian on the game’s lore, but also generate new ideas in order to spark players’ imaginations. To that end, it uses Theorize, which is the adaptive capabilities of the Large Language Model.
“The advent of generative AI tools will make content creation easier than ever and enforcing IPs that we have enjoyed for decades will become even more difficult as a deluge of community-generated content takes over,” commented Dacoco CEO Saro McKenna. “We believe Lynx and Tokenized Lore prepare Alien Worlds for this change and position it as the media model of the future.”
Tokenized Lore is the forthcoming voting system which will let the Alien Worlds community vote on the stories generated with Lynx.
To further encourage new creations, Alien Worlds’ grant program Galactic Hubs will reward users for their contributions. Galactic Hubs recently launched a $50,000 grant program for game developers to build games based on lore generated by Alien Worlds players.
“Through tools like Lynx AI and initiatives like the Galactic Hubs Grant Program, Alien Worlds is not only maintaining its status as a leader in web 3.0 gaming but is also pioneering new ways for the community to engage more deeply and meaningfully with the game’s evolving narrative landscape,” said McKenna.
Lynx AI is available via Aliens World’s official Discord channel, in addition to over 30 other community Discord channels.
