US-developer Faraway Games recently announced it’s bringing ex-Yuga IP HV-MTL to PC arena shooter Shatterline. Alongside the official game launch in Q4 2024 – including the title coming to Epic Games – the HV-MTL NFTs will be integrated and playable in-game.
Revealed via footage on X, the news followed a statement a month earlier from Shatterline developer Frag Labs that the studio was taking a break from development in preparation of the full game launch. In the works since 2022, the game is currently available in early access via Steam until 1st August.
After struggling to keep momentum going of its IPs, strategic partners Yuga Labs and Faraway announced earlier in 2024 that the latter was acquiring Yuga’s HV-MTL and Legends of the Mara IPs.
In other Faraway news, its browser-based resource-extraction city builder Serum City – which is co-developed with Novel Labs – has recently kicked off season 2. With a total prize pool of $100,000, paid in APECOIN, new features include a new resource called crystals. This is required for energy and to acquire two new currencies, Cigs and Cartel Chips. Cigs are required in PVP battles, whereas Chips can be traded for various crafting ingredients.
