For Final Fantasy XIV players it’s officially spooky season as the game’s annual Halloween event All Saints’ Wake returns next week. Announced on Oct. 11, giving players a week to get ready for the event, this year’s All Saints’ Wake will gift players some devilishly formal attire and an adorable flying pumpkin.
Running from Friday, Oct. 18 at 8:00 GMT until Monday, Nov. 4 at 14:59 GMT, All Saints’ Wake, A Feat of Thanks for the Foulest Fiends, will seemingly bring some of the futuristic theming of Dawntrail’s Section 9 area to the FFXIV Halloween event.
This means giving players a full costume, the Night of Devilry set, which will features horns, a shirt and tie chestpiece, gloves with fake nails, some tight leather pants, and some blocky boots. There’s also a cute all-black floating pumpkin to decorate your player housing.
To take part in the event head to Old Gridania, and speak to the Pumpkin-headed Apparition (X: 10.2, Y: 9.4) and accept the quest ‘The Aether-starved Ahriman.’ Complete the questline to receive your spooky surprises!
As ever, certain items available during previous iterations of the event can be obtained via the Bespectacled Peddler NPC, also in Old Gridania. You should also expect older All Saints’ Wake costumes and items to hit the FFXIV Online Store around the same time.
The event’s return is the perfect thing to fill time during the Moogle Treasure Trove grind and the wait for patch 7.1.
As mentioned, All Saints’ Wake is Final Fantasy XIV’s Halloween-themed event. Running almost every year since the game’s release, the event missed its 2012 edition due to the game’s release, and 2020 edition thanks to issues surrounding Covid-19. 2022 had two separate All Saints’ Wake events as one was the delayed 2021 event, but was held in January 2022, and the other blighted players during October 2022.
With a free login campaign arriving in-game today and the spooky event landing next week, it’s a perfect time to pick up or return to FFXIV. And if you’re keeping track, there’s a whole host of events and patch releases throughout the year, so keep your eyes peeled on our FFXIV patch and event schedule.
