In the latest Fortnite update, there’s been some big changes to the game. Underneath the hood though, Epic has made some changes to content that could come back in the future. Including an update to the Fortnite Getaway LTM.
Usually, updates are mainly focused on the new content that actually ends up live on the island. Like the Fortnitemares stuff added recently. However, when older content is planned to come back, we often find out first from these little updates. Fixing content so it’s lined back up with the current game for when it gets cycled back in. Lately, there’s been more going on with LTMs in particular.
For a while, Epic had left Fortnite LTMs out of updates. However, three seasons in this Chapter have included a new LTM for the game. It looks like Getaway might be the next one to make a comeback. How does this mode work?
Getaway Fortnite LTM
The Getaway Fortnite LTM has been receiving some changes according to Fortnite leakers. This was an LTM in previous Fortnite seasons, but one that’s been missing for a while. The goal of the mode is to steal a Jewel, and then make a getaway. As the name implies. Getting away with the Jewel gets you a Victory Royale.
This was an early mode with getaway vehicles before cars were such a big part of Fortnite. This might mean the mode needs some bigger reworks so it makes sense with the current version of the game. The recent LTM comebacks have all largely had big adjustments. They take place on another map and have their weapons replaced with the current bath. However, Getaway would need to have its getaway vans reworked a bit. Now there are vehicles in the game this might make for a more exciting LTM than when it was previously available.
At the moment, we have the Horde Rush LTM active in the game. That’s likely here for most of the time until the Fortnite season ends. A potential return for Getaway will probably be after this season. Which means it’ll be on a new map with a new selection of weapons too.
