As Chapter 5 Season 4 continues to roll on, items, specifically the Iron Man and War Machine items, have been nerfed. Epic Games has been hard at work to try and find the perfect balance for all the items in the loot pool this season. They’ve nerfed and buffed several things, but as players find other struggles, Epic has not been able to sit back. Instead, they had to tweak things again in the most recent update, nerfing the Iron Man Combat Kit and War Machine’s Hover Jets. Here’s what happened to them.
Fortnite Iron Man and War Machine Items Get Nerfed
The Marvel items, ranging from Black Panther Claws to Captain America’s Shield, have all been updated over the course of the season. It is not uncommon for Epic Games to tinker with every single item in the game to make sure it works properly. The company wants everything to be fair, which is why this time, the Fortnite Iron Man Combat Kit and War Machine’s Hover Jets got nerfed.
The Hover Jets were considered overpowered in that they made it virtually impossible to hit someone. The Combat Kit was one of the strongest weapons in the game.
So, Epic Games fixed that (or tried to) in the latest patch. Now, the Iron Man Combat Kit deals less damage. There is also no headshot multiplier. The damage remains consistent across the board. The lock-in range is much smaller, too, and it requires significantly better aim. Players have to get good with the item to make it useful in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4.
As for the Hover Jets, players can no longer boost around the map as easily. You can still fly and boost, so it remains one of the best movement items. However, they have less fuel now and boosts are more limited. This should make it a little easier for players in a battle with someone who has the jets. Before, they could whip around in the air and make quick work of an opponent without the jets. That should no longer be the case.
