After years of anticipation, Bungie’s popular first-person shooter Destiny is finally ready for smartphones. The developer NetEase Games has revealed that Destiny: Rising is now open for pre-registration. Here’s how to pre-register.
The Destiny franchise was born in 2014 by the creators of the Halo series, Bungie, and published by Activision. It was a concept that introduced the idea of an open world shooter with a stress on exploration. With its resounding success, NetEase Games decided to develop it for mobile devices titled Destiny: Rising. The game will now be launched under Bungie’s official license. Bungie, however, has recently faced a challenging time with layoffs affecting 220 jobs.
Destiny: Rising Release Date
At the time of writing, there is not any concrete info on the Destiny: Rising official launch date. Nonetheless, the release on an accessible platform like mobile will be good for the Destiny player base.
How to Pre-register for Destiny Mobile
NetEase has invited users to pre-register for the game following these simple steps.
- Go to the official website by clicking here.
- Click on the ‘Pre-register’ button in the top right corner.
- Fill in the form with your mobile device details (Android or iOS).
- Complete the registration form by entering your mobile device details, region, and email address.
- Once registered, wait for an Email confirmation notification.
Not to mention, filling out the pre-register form will not guarantee you getting early access. Instead, you will be joining a pool from which some players will be chosen randomly. Also, as of now the first round of the Closed Alpha Test will be only available to the players from USA and Canada. Afterwards, you can expect more regions to be added gradually. The first closed beta test will start from 1st November onwards.
Unlike the original Destiny franchise, Destiny: Rising has been described as exploring an alternate Destiny timeline. However, you can expect the familiar heroes and legends in the game. Additionally, there will be campaign missions alongside six-player co-op strikes same as the original Destiny.
