Axie Infinity is a Play to Earn (P2E) game where “players can battle, collect, raise, and build a land-based kingdom for their pets” (Whitepaper). It is a turn-based strategy RPG (Role Playing Game) in the likes of the Pokémon games.

Axie Scholarship Programs
To battle in Axie Infinity, you need three Axies from the Axie Marketplace. As of this writing, a single Axie costs $200 USD, or .06 wETH (Wrapped Ethereum), and up.
With such a high upfront cost to begin playing, the community of Axie trainers came together to form Axie Lending programs to let new players try out the game before purchasing their first team of Axies.
Axies were not always so expensive. Many trainers have accumulated hundreds of Axies as early players and throughout their gameplay. With this, some trainers have numerous Axies that they do not play with regularly.
How it Works
Current trainers with Axies to spare create an account separate from their own, providing the new trainer with the login information and a team of three Axies.
The new trainer can then use the Axies in that account to start playing. In the game, trainers care for and breed Axies, earning resources and SLP (Smooth Love Potion) along the way. SLP is used to upgrade and breed Axies, while in-game items are used to upgrade Axies’ attack and defense stats.
Axie Infinity Shards (AXS) are the game’s governance token and can be purchased through a decentralized exchange or earned through playing. Token holders can stake their $AXS to claim newly issued AXS tokens and have voting power in both the future of the game and to guide the use of the Axie Infinity Treasury.
Following the lending period, the new trainer can maintain a portion of their earnings, while the lender will take a cut as a lending fee. It is the lender’s responsibility to share the earnings with the new trainer.

There is a collection of programs available to gamers that want to start playing Axie Infinity. Although many are put together by the trusted Axie community, always be sure to research the program you apply to so you will not spend time playing without receiving the earned rewards.

IMPORTANT TERMS OF USE
Trainers cannot play on more than one Axie Infinity account within 24 hours. Doing so will ban you from the game. The same hold true for scholarship programs, you may only be an Axie Scholar with one program, one account.
