Illuvium, the protocol that uses Ethereum to create an universe of Interoperable Blockchain Games (IBG), has chosen Polemos and its Armory solution to revolutionize its games. And indeed, from now on, players of Illuvium crypto games will be able to “rent” NFTs.
Illuvium and Polemos: a partnership to strengthen the crypto gaming loan
Polemos has announced a partnership with the gaming protocol Illuvium to provide its uncollateralized lending solution, Armory.
In general, the innovative open-world fantasy battle game Illuvium has been built on the Ethereum blockchain and Immutable.
Armory, developed by Polemos and Guardian Labs, is a lending technology, and allows players to rent digital assets without the need for guarantees or deposits.
Unlike traditional gaming platforms, The Armory allows borrowers to have access to the actual game’s NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) during the rental period, providing an authentic and engaging gaming experience, and offering the lender complete asset protection in the game.
The partnership signed between Illuvium and Polemos, once completed, will provide full loan and staking functionalities for game assets, such as lands and Pokemon-style NFTs, and a more transparent and secure lending environment for asset owners and Illuvium players.
Illuvium: crypto gaming players and NFT renting with Armory
Thanks to the new introduction of Armory in Illuvium’s crypto games, now players will have the opportunity for low-cost borrowing, allowing them to experience high-value assets within the game without the need to fully own them.
In this regard, Richard McLaren, CEO of Polemos, said:
“Illuvium is an innovative force in the gaming industry, seamlessly blending blockchain technology and immersive gameplay into an experience that will change the way we perceive and interact with virtual worlds. This partnership, an absolute novelty for proprietary games, will be considered a milestone in proprietary gaming, as it crystallizes the true characteristics and functionalities of an advanced secondary lending market.”
In addition, the Armory platform is chain-agnostic and game-agnostic, and can operate on different blockchains.
And indeed, Armory already supports Polygon games and, thanks to the development agreement, it will support games on Immutable, IMX, and zkEVM.
Polemos also plans to integrate in the future with other important chains such as Solana, BNB, Arbitrum, Avalanche, and TON, expanding its reach and accessibility to a wider range of players.
The price of ILV
ILV, the native token of Illuvium, is currently worth $98.14 and has a total market cap of over $369 million, ranking it in 124th position in the crypto ranking.
At the moment, ILV is at 100% of the price it had at the end of October. In fact, from October 26 onwards, ILV has ridden the crypto bull run, reaching the annual high of $116 on November 27.
Who knows if this interest in ILV has come from the listing of the crypto game on the PC game platform of Epic Games Store, which took place on November 28th.
On the contrary, the AAA game Illuvium:Zero was launched in January 2023, but it did not bring any bullish to ILV given the full “crypto winter”. However, what has been increasing is the price of Illuvium’s NFT lands by 48% in one week.
