Hot on the heels of the exciting new Winter Drop announcement that revealed the Pale Garden and Creaking mob, Minecraft is set to introduce yet more new blocks to the game. Revealed on Oct. 23 in a new test drop, the two new features look set to arrive alongside the Winter Drop later this year.
Resin Blocks in Minecraft
The first new block announced are a series of bright orange blocks called Resin. Resin is spawned from the new Pale Oak trees, only found in the Pale Garden biome. However, Resin will only spawn once the Pale Garden’s new mob, the Creaking, is defeated. Then Pale Oak trees will spawn spots of orange which you can harvest resin clumps from.
These resin clumps can then be harvested and built into Resin Bricks, Rough Resin, Carved Resin, Resin Walls, and a few other products. The bright orange color is really unique, and we expect builders will get loads of ideas to build their next Minecraft house with.
Eyeblossom Flowers Minecraft
Eyeblossom Flowers are a unique flower being added to Minecraft that will only bloom at night. The strange flowers have a luminous quality, but interestingly, don’t count a light source. This might be perfect for clever designers who want to light up a Minecraft build without actually lighting it up.
The flowers will only spawn in the Pale Garden. It’s unknown if they’ll flower elsewhere, and if you can plant them in other places, but we assume so. Also, they can be harvested for Orange and gray dye. And the dye color depends on whether you harvest them when they’re closed or open, which is really cool.
Overall, the Winter Drop is looking far more expansive than we thought. While Mojang, the creators of Minecraft recently vowed to develop smaller “drops” rather than big updates, there’s still plenty of features being added to this patch that make us hopeful for the future.
