Back in May this year, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) announced the launch of a new tournament called MLBB Rising League. This is an in-game tournament that fans can participate in to earn rewards. It differed from the MLBB Esports tournaments as it was open for all to enter. MLBB Rising League is also part of the Project Next by MOONTON. In this article, let’s look at this tournament, its format, rewards, and how fans can participate in the MLBB Rising League.
What Is The MLBB Rising League?
MLBB is known worldwide for its incredible player base and thriving esports ecosystem. Currently, the game has released a special update for its 8th anniversary. The game has partnered with traditional brands such as Ducati and movie franchises like Star Wars.
MLBB Rising League was released in June 2024. In the past, however, MLBB consisted of the Competitive League (MCL) weekly tournament. This was an in-game tournament where fans could take part to earn rewards. One problem that the community faced, though, was that it was catered to the players who were present in the higher ranks in the ranked ladder.
To cater to the rest of the player base, MOONTON introduced the Rising League: a tournament that has flexible uses allows all fans to take part in a tournament-style event. Below are some unique features of the tournament compared to the MCL:
- No rank or level restrictions
- No team requirements
- Retain bracket progress
How does the format work?
The MLBB Rising League has three phases: qualification, breakout, and team clash. Players can qualify for the breakout stage by playing ranked matches on their devices. The breakout stage is only live during the weekends, though, with the ability to play a limited number of matches.
Players must use entrance tickets they can receive during the qualification stage to participate in the breakout stage. Once players are in the breakout stage, they can go solo or with a team with no rank restrictions. Furthermore, for the ease of the player, the same bracket progresses.
If a player runs out of participation attempts during this stage and doesn’t reach the champion, they will retain their bracket progress and try again the following week. Each breakout stage consists of an 8-team single elimination bracket. The winner of the tournament will receive the champion trophy. Additionally, the more champion trophy a player collects, the higher their breakout level will be in the weekly game.
It must be noted, however, that the MLBB Rising League is only available in specific areas of the world.
