OG’s Dota 2 team is shuffling its roster as it parts ways with Peruvian carry player Enzo “Timado” Gianoli. The team announced the departure on Sep. 21 by social post.
Timado joined the team in May of 2024, competing with OG for the majority of the year, in Dream League S22, Elite League Season 1 and 2, ESL One Birmingham 2024, Riyadh Masters, and The International 2024 Western European Qualifiers.
However, Timado’s tenure with the team had been marred by a lack of success. Despite the prestige of OG, their 2024 has been somewhat disappointing, failing to qualify for several events and TI13 itself. Their best finish was arguably at ESL One Birmingham 2024, where the team were only invited as a last-minute replacement having not managed to qualify directly.
In their post, OG thanked Timado and wished him good luck next year. It’s unknown who will replace Timado in the carry position. However, rumors have suggested multiple potential suitors, including Thai superstar Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon, although these reports have not been confirmed.
Either way, OG will be looking to upgrade both its roster and its performance in the coming months. Once the pinnacle of Western European Dota 2, the team now sits firmly on the second tier, and while fans still support the two-time TI champions, how long can the trophies of the past maintain this status quo.
OG’s next big test is at the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024: Western Europe Closed Qualifiers and the DreamLeague Season 24 Qualifiers, which are both just a few days away at the time of writing. OG will likely reveal their Dota 2 roster soon as the deadline for registration draws close.
