Officially sunsetted by its original developer, web3 monster-hunter Chainmonsters was recently revived with the announcement that blockchain gaming company Spielworks had acquired it.
Now the developer has unveiled it’s tapping into the Telegram gaming trend with the launch of Tapmonsters, a tap mini-game closely integrated with Chainmonsters.
In Tapmonsters, players take the role of a researcher at the N-Corp organisation, which seeks to harness the power of Chainmon creatures. Players can earn coins through tapping, which can then be used to upgrade their lab in order to generate higher coin rates and climb the leaderboards. The Chainmons will also increase the production of coins while also offering other exclusive benefits in the forthcoming Chainmonsters MMORPG.
Positions on the leaderboards determine how big a player’s MONSTER token rewards will be. In terms of MONSTER, it’s Chainmonsters’ utility token, and will be used to acquire Shards, buy in-game items, and also be possible to stake.
Finally, Tapmonsters features gacha mechanics, and players reaching level 10 will earn an exclusive reward which will be claimable upon the Chainmonsters launch.
“The release of Tapmonsters marks our first new title under the Spielworks banner,” said Spielworks executive producer Jens Klang.
“We’ve taken typical tap-to-earn gaming and turned it up to 11, with innovative gacha mechanics and new features that will excite both new tap-to-earn players and those experienced with the genre,” added Spielworks game director Maximilian Weber.
“We hope Tapmonsters will bring back memories to long-time Chainmonsters fans, and give a few hints of the new directions we’re heading in for the MMO.”
