The Nordic countries are getting their first collectible stamps, the Stamps of Maybe, a project launched by Posta Faroe in collaboration with NFT artist Heiðrik á Heygum.

NFT artist Heiðrik á Heygum and the Stamps of Maybe project

The first collectible stamps with NFT artist Heiðrik á Heygum have arrived in the Faroe Islands in the Nordic countries.

Specifically, the new project called Stamps of Maybe was launched by the Faroe Post and features a limited collection with 7,500 issues of each of the four stamps with distinctive designs.

Each design represents a season and its associated element, showing their harmonious interaction with the mesmerizing climate of the Faroe Islands. These stamps celebrate the inspiring beauty of nature and the captivating spirit of the Faroe Islands.

Artist Heiðrik á Heygum then proceeded to create the first Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter NFT stamps, which sold out within just two hours of their sale on the dedicated website

Stamps of Maybe: how does this artist’s NFT stamp project work

The Stamps of Maybe NFTs involve a physical stamp and its own digital twin that is stored on the blockchain, and which can be used for postage.

This is a collection that marks the first integration of real-time weather data from the Faroe Islands with NFT stamps using blockchain technology.

In fact, each digital stamp captures a unique moment in time when activated, blending with the ever-changing weather of the picturesque Faroe Islands.

This innovative feature not only adds a gaming element for collectors, but also explores the full potential of blockchain, increasing the rarity of each stamp.

In this regard, NFT artist Heiðrik á Heygum wanted to offer his unique vision of the four seasons in the Faroe Islands through the Stamp of Maybe project. And he did so with four beautiful collages of images or bouquets, as we can call them, representing the seasons of the year.

Each bouquet contains flowers, various other plants, birds and animals. The Faroese have always been very attached to nature and its resources, as these images show.

Switzerland’s Crypto Stamps 3.0

A similar project to the current one in the Faroe Islands had been launched by the Swiss Post with their third Crypto Stamp 3.0, in the physical and NFT version

Indeed, last April, the Swiss Post launched the project, which also involves Artificial Intelligence (AI). How? Precisely with the designs of the stamps.

Essentially, visitors to Swiss Digital Days 2022 had been given the opportunity to design the new stamps of this third edition of Crypto Stamp 3.0 through a terminal.

Specifically, participants at the event selected terms from which a trained AI system then produced images and created the present designs for this series.

The NFT artist in this case was the AI system based on input received from crypto-art enthusiasts.

The artist Giovanni Motta has created the first manga in NFT form in Italian, which was presented on the NIFTY GATEWAY marketplace on 7 July 2022. The manga is titled METABORG.

The Metaborg project by NFT artist Giovanni Motta

In the Manga story, Metaborg is a combat tournament in which the 32 strongest warriors in the world participate. Each warrior is assigned to a physical person, all of whom are undisputed stars of the crypto world.

John spoke with each of them, interviewing them on the subject of their child, how they saw the world and how they experienced their childhood. Complex personalities and surprising peculiarities emerged.

Thus, prominent art collectors such as Poseidon, Bharat Krimo, Anesti Dima, BatSoupYum, Kenshiro, 33, MoonCAt, Akira, Artifact agreed to become warriors, followed by Ivan Quaroni, art critic and artists such as Federico Clapis, Dangiuz, SkyGolpe, Fabio Giampietro, Hannibal Siconolfi, SixandFive, Emanuel Shiu, Jesse Draxler, Algomistic, Raphael Lacoste, Toomuchlag, Dascanio, Matteo Mauro, Veneziano, Emanuele Ferrari, Giuseppe Lo Schiavo, Andrea Bonaceto, Alessio de Vecchi, and Marco Montemagno.

Metaborg Five Stars is the second date for my Fighter Collectors.

“I am a physical and digital artist, hence in my projects I always try to bring both worlds, physical and digital, to life,” Giovanni Motta explained.

In the first issue of Metaborg there are 136 pages that are now available as unique works: 136 NFTs corresponding to 136 unique art prints.

The physical works have been “dropped” with drops of Giovanni’s blood in order to create a third form of authentication in addition to the signature and NFT.

Giovanni tokenized the photo of his DNA test so it will always be possible to compare and be certain that these works are original.

NFT artist Giovanni Motta explains:

“As the greatest living artist Damien Hirst taught me, I created a very similar tokenomics.”

How does the relationship with the NFT work?

A person who purchases one of these 136 NFTs can decide not to sell it for 6 months and, upon expiration, can decide whether to keep the NFT or have the corresponding physical work as a replacement.

If the collector keeps the NFT, the physical print artwork will be destroyed; if the collector decides to keep the physical artwork, the corresponding NFT will be burned.

These 136 works have 5 levels of rarity determined by the number of stars on the artwork. Pages with one star are the most common while those with 5 stars are the rarest.

MINT will be open for two categories of collectors on 29 and 30 November 2022:

Fighter collectors who have already collected one or more Metaborg NFTs and all others who now have the opportunity to become Fighter collectors by collecting one of these artworks.

MINT will be made directly on the project website.

Bruno Cerasi is an Italian artist who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of L’Aquila. In 2009 he lost part of his sight due to a stroke, but he did not let himself be discouraged.

The Hymn to Life by artist Bruno Cerasi

In fact, he started working with installations and spaces, abandoning painting and drawing, and focusing on light and shadow, used as the main elements of his artistic research.

During his ten-year career, he has already exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions and fairs, both in Italy and abroad, and now he has dedicated himself to a new digital project.

Bruno Cerasi’s art has been defined as “a hymn to life with its ebbs and flows“, which is an open dialogue with viewers, with the aim of communicating and building invisible, but perceptible, sentimental connections.

The new project is called Faded22/, and was born after the artist slowly began to lose his sight. The project recounts this very change, thanks to an algorithm that transforms into digital butterflies the response of the eye examinations he makes every month.

More precisely, the monitoring of his visual field produces numerical data and graphics that, thanks to the algorithm, will be transformed into colors generated by these same numerical data.

Each month a new digital butterfly will be available on the artist’s platform, Foundation, in NFT format. The first official drop is set for 14 February 2022.

In addition, an AirDrop is already underway via a whitelist open until 31 January accessible from the artist’s Twitter profile.

The butterfly has been Cerasi’s symbol since 2013 when he chose it to represent the overflow of information that surrounds us, and the paradox of being so distant from one another.
