It is all ready for the launch of the first NFT artist book!

Once again, the international monthly magazine to be collected on Ethereum, The NFT Magazine, launches a new publication that changes the rules of Publishing in Web3 and raises the bar.

The new CryptoArt Monograph together with the third issue 2k23 of The NFT Magazine , will be available with a double drop from March 6, 2023 at 2 PM ET , both on the Nifty Gateway platform , which will last 5 DAYS for both the COVER DROP and the BookDrop NFT.

The first NFT artist book

The third CryptoArt Monograph produced by The NFT Magazine becomes the first NFT artist book thanks to the intervention of Andrea Crespi.

An artist’s book is a real work of art, conceived by its creator in the form of a book but with all the characteristics of a work of art: original, unique and representative of artistic research.

In this sense Andrea Crespi, the protagonist of the third CryptoArt Monograph, has interpreted the concept of artist’s book by intervening with one of his unpublished works not only on the cover of the monograph, but on all its pages.

Through a grid of lines – a primordial gesture of artistic creation – he traces the path to discover his art in the world of NFTs until he reveals the one who is hidden beneath those living lines: the timeless icon of the Mona Lisa.

But this new edition of CryptoArt Monograph takes on a new value: it becomes for the first time a phygital artist’s book, by its nature born as an NFT, it also finds space in the physical with the publication of the book.

Who is Andrea Crespi

Andrea Crespi is a visual artist whose work develops in the continuous investigation of different media and themes including optical illusion, social transformation, the digital revolution, identifying art as a tool for perception and analysis of truth through the search for beauty, sometimes manifesting itself in an intimate, personal and erotic portrait of him.

He is the third Crypto Artist featured in CryptoArt Monograph, carefully curated by curator and gallery owner Sandie Zanini, who has focused on new technologies and digital tools, pushing the boundaries on the role of galleries in this new era.

Angie Taylor stars in The NFT Magazine

Ahead of the first drop of 2023 – scheduled for 9 January 2023 – the absolute star of the collectible cover is the great crypto artist Angie Taylor.

Artist, sculptor and animator, Angie Taylor studied sculpture in the early 1980s. 

She became an Adobe animator, illustrator, and demo artist in the 1990s before giving it all up to follow her art. 

She creates immersive VR and AR projects, digital sculpture, illustration and animation. 

Her current creative process begins in VR where she models 3D characters and scenes. These are hand-painted and textured on iPads before being rendered in 3D.

Her work explores themes of identity, isolation and “otherness” – often supporting life misfits and highlighting their struggles.

Her highly distinctive style is difficult to define, but has been described by some as Punk-Expressionism – a unique blend of punk art, naive art, pop art, and expressionist aesthetics. She also explores her own challenges with neurodiversity. 

Angie has been a punk since 1976 and a digital artist since 1987.

Angie Taylor will be the first featured artist in “Crypto Art Monograph” the first monographs published by The NFT Magazine and curated each month by an internationally renowned guest curator.

The Editors of The NFT Magazine continue their research and curatorial work on the yet-to-be-discovered world of Crypto Art and unveil the major players in the art scene more contemporary than ever before.

The Crypto Art Monographs become true collectible books, short monographs with previously unpublished texts to discover the artist featured in the publication, but that’s not all: the cover is unique, specially designed for the monograph and reproduced on the book cover and in collectible NFT format.

The curator of the monographs: Fanny Lakoubay

The first CRYPTO ART MONOGRAPH dedicated to Angie Taylor is curated by Fanny Lakoubay, a Buenos Aires-based digital art consultant and curator with 14 years of experience in art, technology and finance.

With her team LAL ART Advisory, she supports institutional, corporate and private clients who wish to enter the NFT space. She is also involved in many NFT projects, such as The Blockchain Art Directory (BAD 2.0), We Are Museums, GreenNFT, and more. The journal will be on sale on OpenSea in public sale starting Oct. 2, at the cost of 0.05 ETH, with artist Vexx on the cover.

Who is Vexx?

Vexx is one of the most recognized visual and NFT artists of his generation. A self-taught creative working out of Belgium, he started his signature doodle style at 16 years old.

The topic of this seventh issue is on the archaeology of NFTs, i.e. all those projects that we can define as forerunners of this technology, from 2014 until 2017, including CryptoKitties.

The artwork on the cover was created by the Italian artist Skygolpe. Specifically, it is his “Solar Cage”, originally sold on SuperRare for 23 ETH (almost 80 thousand dollars). In total, for all his works, Skygolpe has sold for over 5 million dollars on the various platforms.
