Magic Eden and Mocaverse collaborate on NFT launchpad MagicMoca

Cross-chain NFT marketplace Magic Eden and Mocaverse have announced plans to co-launch a new NFT launchpad.

Called MagicMoca, the platform is designed exclusively for the Mocaverse community, tapping into its 1.8 million Moca ID owners. Aiming to funnel upcoming NFT projects from Animoca Brands and its 540 portfolio companies, Mocaverse and Magic Eden will curate the top projects which will be launched to both communities.

As the first co-branded NFT launchpad of its kind, MagicMoca will also expand the utility of MOCA Coin, using it as its primary trading currency. As part of the deal, Magic Eden will also integrate MOCA Coin for its own NFT marketplace. Further incentives, such as Diamond boosts, are also in place to encourage Magic Eden users to join the Moca Network.

Magic Eden co-founder and CEO Jack Lu commented, “Our priority will always be to push boundaries on how to expand the world of NFTs, so tapping into innovative collaborations with Mocaverse and unlocking access to the Animoca Brands ecosystem is a huge asset for both of our communities.”

“Mocaverse welcomes Magic Eden to the Moca Network, where we share the same vision to accelerate consumer crypto by using NFTs as the touchpoint for day to day consumers,” said Mocaverse lead Kenneth Shek.

“Magic Eden is launching marketplaces compatible with different chains, and we’re fully aligned to bringing full interoperability to users through our new launchpad MagicMoca and adopting the omni-chain MOCA Coin.”

The launch of MagicMoca is expected sometime in Q3 2024. With only two weeks left, that means it should be imminent.

APhone partners with Magic Eden for sale of Access Pass NFTs

Virtual web3 smartphone app APhone has unveiled new details of its Access Pass sale on NFT marketplace Magic Eden.

A total of 5,000 Access Passes, each priced at 0.2 SOL (c.$25) will be up for sale, and those purchased via Magic Eden can be swapped to unlock the full range of APhone functionality for a year. 10 key rewards, which can be exchanged for future token airdrops, will also be offered for each NFT swap, in addition to a 25% boost in Magic Eden’s Diamond Rewards on its marketplace.

APhone is powered by cloud infrastructure company Aethir, which supports its device-agnostic feature, making the app compatible across desktops, mobiles and VR headsets. To this end, it lets users access demanding apps and games directly from their web browser, without being limited by a device’s hardware. The company also says this approach eliminates costly development and backwards compatibility.

APhone chief business officer William Peckham commented, “In line with the core principles of decentralization, APhone Passes allow any smartphone user to effortlessly enjoy all the benefits of web3 regardless of their devices’ technical limitations, making it accessible for everyone.”

At the back of its recent integration with Solana, APhone users can now access over 500 web3 apps, games, NFTs, and DeFi protocols. The app also comes pre-installed with web3 games such as HoneyLand, Mighty Action Heroes, Warpcast, and more.

“APhone gives game and app developers freedom from the restrictions and control of web2 app stores. We’re excited to see how web3 game studios leverage the APhone DApp Store to launch and scale their games,” added Magic Eden chief revenue officer Chris Akhavan.

Another week, another NFT mint (or two)! In this particular case, we’re talking about the upcoming mint for Kepler Citizenship Passport NFTs, a founder type NFT for the MMO, sci-fi shooter, Earth from Another Sun.

A new mint is coming on May 10th for an epic, sci-fi, MMO / FPS known as Earth From Another Sun. This mint is for Kepler Citizenship Passport NFTs. Collection size of 1,000 and a price of 2 SOL each.

These limited edition Passports offer a number of benefits. This includes future NFT airdrops, early access to alpha and beta tests, bonuses to contribution points, whitelists for future mints, and entry into exclusive events!

The mint opens on May 10th, 2024 at 6am UTC on Magic Eden. The guaranteed whitelist phase runs for 6 hours, followed by 5 hours for the FCFS (first come first served) whitelist, and then a public sale if any NFTs remain available.

It’s too late to earn a whitelist spot, but you can still sign up at https://citizenship.efas.io to see your status and prep your account for season two missions, which will lead into an upcoming airdrop. These missions are social based — inviting friends, participating on Discord, etc. It seems like the Earth From Another Sun team plans on using this same system moving forward, so if you are interested in this game, it doesn’t hurt to sign up!

What is Earth From Another Sun?

Earth From Another Sun is an open-world style, sci-fi, MMO that sees players navigating the stars, and engaging enemies on planets while commanding their own personal army!

Players roam the galaxy, battle hostile enemies, both human and non-human, complete quests, and bolster their army with new weapons, vehicles, and mechs. But this isn’t just a static universe. Every battle and quest completed will have some sort of effect on the galaxy. Even if these effects are minor, as more players play and engage with the system, the game may change based on these interactions.

Earth From Another Sun offers solo play as well as cooperative play throughout the game with groups of up to four players. They also plan to release 10-person raid-type events.

The game is in alpha testing. Currently only PvE mode is available, though the team plans to add some sort of PvP gameplay in the future. You can gain access to the alpha by owning a Passport (mint coming soon) or a Companion NFT (current floor price ~0.2 SOL)

Earth From Another Sun wants to be an ever-growing universe, and hopes to realize this goal by implementing the ability for players to create custom content such as quests, NPCs, and even custom planets!
