Digital motorsports hub Motorverse is joining forces with DeLorean Motor Company to bring the DeLorean sports cars to the gaming and motorsports ecosystem.

Owned by Animoca Brands, Motorverse continues to enhance its blockchain-powered network of motorsports and digital vehicles, with the latest addition being DeLorean’s iconic DMC-12 sports car. Although not yet revealed what games will be supported, the car is set to be integrated as a limited edition NFT collection in “select Motorverse web3 gaming titles”.

Current games in its cross-chain ecosystem include Torque Drift 2, High Voltage, Revv Racing, recently launched Cosmic Royale, and more.

DeLorean’s web3 arm, DeLorean Labs, has recently also unveiled a collaboration with Mysten Labs.

As part of that deal, DeLorean will build its forthcoming marketplace and other blockchain protocols on Mysten’s L1 blockchain Sui. In an initial joint initiative, the companies have kicked off a prize draw campaign featuring a DeLorean EV, among other prizes. 

The company had previously announced hookups with the Karate Combat project and battle royale game Open.

Mysten Labs has launched pre-orders for its $600 Steamdeck-equivalent PC gaming handheld.

Called the SuiPlay0X1, it uses the Linux-based Playtron gaming OS to offer compatibility with existing distribution platforms such as Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG.

Of course, the point of the 0X1, however, is also to offer native support for the Sui blockchain and its games, notable thirdperson shooter Xociety and physics-brawler Darknights.

The first 1,000 pre-orders will get a special soulbound Mythic NFTs, with the remainder of this limited-edition run – it’s not clear how many units are available – getting a less exclusive NFT.

Both NFTs will be used to distribute future rewards to 0X1 owners’ wallets, both from Mysten Labs but also from any companies who wish to engage with this early adopter audience.

In terms of specs, the 0X1 uses a gaming-optimized AMD Ryzen 7 7840U CPU plus a AMD RYZEN 780M GPU, with 16GB of memory plus a 512GB SSD. The seven inch screen has an aspect ratio of 1920 by 1200 pixels.

Broadly-speaking, it appears the 0X1 will be equivalent in performance to the top-end Steamdeck, which also has 512GB of memory but is priced at $550. Of course, given this is new hardware, it’s not yet clear how smoothly the Playtron OS will work with games compared to the years-tested highly robust SteamOS.

Delivery of these pre-orders is expected sometime in the first half of 2025. Payment can currently only be made in SUI, SOL or ETH crypto. Purchasers will also have to pay delivery and local taxes.

Ex-Facebook blockchain team Mysten Labs has partnered with Google Cloud to enhance the Sui ecosystem.

One element of the deal has seen Mysten Labs using Google Cloud’s generative AI platform Vertex AI, training it on the Move smart contract programming language to help developers debug and optimize their code.

It’s also using AI in a new code auditing tool, which identifies security vulnerabilities in the Rust, Move, Typescript and Solidity coding languages.

The partnership isn’t just about AI however. Google Cloud has also integrated Sui’s data into its BigQuery public datasets, allowing developers to better understand how their Sui apps are being used.

NDUS Interactive has teamed up with Mysten Labs to launch XOCIETY on Sui, offering players a more immersive triple-A experience within the web3 space. The third-person shooter features deep RPG elements and is set to open early access in the fourth quarter of 2024.

In XOCIETY, players can look forward to engaging in PvP battles along with PvE encounters combined with web3 elements. The “Pop Shooter” promises high-quality AAA gameplay as expected from the industry veterans that make up the development team.

Apart from experiences in NCSOFT, Nexon, and Krafton, the team also boasts the talents of Myoungjin Lee, Creative Artist and Author of Ragnarok original, as well as Sang Chung, Business Director and former Head of PlayDapp.

With this partnership, NDUS Interactive aims to aid AAA web3 gaming’s shift into the mainstream, offering players more innovative ways they can take part in this ever-evolving space.
