Boomland is migrating to Immutable zkEVM. And with this move comes a special, Hunters On-Chain, play to airdrop campaign with over 250 million BOOM tokens in rewards!

Fresh off of the Guild of Guardians launch, Immutable zkEVM already has another project lined up for release — Boomland Games. Their free to play, top-down, action-based, fantasy brawler, Hunters On-Chain is ready to move and relaunch on Immutable, offering over 250 million BOOM tokens in a two month, play to airdrop campaign!

BOOM is the primary ecosystem token for Boomland Games. It will be useful throughout all of their projects (which at the moment is only Hunters On-Chain), with both in-game and out of game use cases.

There will be two seasons for this campaign, each a month long. Season one begins in June.

And Boomland plans to make this a play-focused airdrop event. Users can earn points for completing Badges, finishing Quests, and Referring new players. Badges are in-game, one-time achievements for things such as owning specific hunters or doing a certain amount of damage to Kevin the Dragon. Quests are daily game tasks. And referrals, well, you know what referrals are. But aside from that, no other social engagement required. No Discord events or re-tweeting or any of that sort of stuff that often comes with these campaigns.

This first play to airdrop event will start everyone on equal footing. No existing Hunter NFTs may be used. The game is open to everyone at no cost. All players begin with just a single, common, free Hunter, and must use that to earn points until they can acquire a premium Hunter.

How to acquire a premium Hunter, you ask? Option One: Hold Genesis Hunters in your wallet by the time of the snapshot on May 27th, 3pm UTC. Players will receive one Premium Hunter for every Genesis Hunter they hold. Option 2: Participate and win in various contests and giveaways throughout the play to airdrop campaign. Option 3: Trade or Purchase one on the open market.

What is Hunters On-Chain

Hunters is a fantasy, top-down, casual, PVE action game with a couple of different game modes.

For PvE, each match features four players fighting monsters and leveling up. In Hunt mode, matches last for two minutes, with the top spot going to whoever has earned the most experience in that time, or whoever is the last survivor — whichever comes first. Each player starts the match at level 1 with full hit points. As they kill monsters and grab the stars that drop, players gain experience. Gain enough experience, and you level up, earning the right to choose between two, semi-random promotions. These promotions include standard power-ups such as increased damage, greater attack range, and more hit points, as well as special abilities like Damage Reflect and Demon Pact (sacrifice HP for more damage).

As the match goes on, the monsters get tougher. So players need to be active, get out on the battlefield, and increase their levels. At the center of the map lies a healing square that can be visited at any time.

Other game modes include Boss Hunt, which requires players to try and defeat a Boss dragon after leveling up, and Bounty Hunter, which is a 10 character, FFA fight with no level-ups during the match.

Players earn BGEM tokens from playing matches. They can then use BGEM to purchase chests containing random artifacts and hunter shards or swap them for BOOM tokens. Players need BOOM tokens and Hunter Shards to level up their Hunters.

Hunters On-Chain can be played through a webpage, or with the official app on Android and iOS devices.

Citizen Conflict is back, launching version 5.0 of their alpha and opening the game up to everyone! And not only are they bringing back their airdrop campaign, but they have also adjusted their leaderboards so that the game now features true play and earn opportunities!

What’s New in 5.0?

Version 5.0 of the Citizen Conflict alpha brings some exciting new features to the game!

There is a new character class known as the Brutalizer. The Brutalizer not only has the Adrenaline Rush ability, but they also come with a brand-new skill known as Phase Shift. When activated, Phase Shift grants the user reduced damage and increased movement, while also causing them to hit any players they pass through with a flash (as if from a flashbang grenade).

This update includes a new 1v1 map called Depo, and some reworking of the existing maps. Part of this reworking includes spawn point protection, making regular spawn camping a thing of history. Players can earn and open loot boxes in-game, group together and chat in the squad lobby, and experience new, in-game, dynamic events while playing!

In addition, there has been a bit of rebalancing and tweaking for the other classes and weapons as well as technical and usability improvements. You can read the official dev update for full details.

What is Citizen Conflict?

Citizen conflict is a free to play, team based FPS. Built in Unreal 5, Citizen Conflict sees teams of players fighting across a variety of maps. The game will include various play modes such as deathmatch, battle royale, extraction, and others. There will also be an open world where Syndicates can fight for control of various districts. The open game world will include vehicles such as cars, motorcycles, and helicopters!

Heroes come in five different classes, and can be outfitted with gear and equipment that changes or enhances their abilities. And these items are not just cosmetic. Everything equipped affects the character’s gameplay in some manner. Players can purchase equipment Lootboxes, and also claim a free, Common box every day.

Citizen Conflict has their own token called CCASH. This will be used for in-game purchases.

Chicken Derby kickstarts their new economic model as they open up the ability for owners to stake Chickens and earn BAWK tokens. Players will need these tokens to stake into CRCs, or Chicken Racing Companies, to earn Jewels, which are the new in-game only currency used to enter races.

The new BAWK based economy kicks off for Chicken Derby, with the first opportunity to earn BAWK tokens coming from staking your Chicken NFT!

And though the community sale for BAWK token wasn’t much of a success (just a little over 8 ETH worth of tokens were sold), the Chicken Derby team undauntedly forges ahead, launching their new game economy this week.

The new economy for Chicken Derby centers around the BAWK token. BAWK is an ERC-20 token on the Polygon blockchain. Players will be able to purchase it on decentralized exchanges in the near future, and also claim any tokens they purchased during the community sale. But, for now, the only way to earn BAWK is to stake your Chicken NFTs. You can do this on the Chicken Staking page. And since the transaction is on Polygon, it will only cost a couple of cents to do so. Once staked, your Chickens immediately start earning BAWK tokens, which can be claimed at any time.

Staked Chickens can still be used in races.

Jewels

Jewels are the new racing currency. All races cost Jewels to enter, and offer Jewels as reward. Jewels are actually an in-game only, stable token. Players can freely swap Jewels for USDC and vice-versa at anytime on the Chicken Derby site. Jewels will always be valued at 70 Jewels to 1 USDC. So, players can fund themselves for racing, and can also cash out if they accumulate any winnings.

To encourage racing, for a limited time (I think), all races also give out BAWK token rewards to ALL entrants!

Aside from purchasing Jewels directly, players can also stake their BAWK tokens into CRC, or Chicken Racing Companies. Each race is sponsored by one of the five CRCs, who receive a portion of the entry fees for the race. That income is then distributed and the end of each to season to everyone who has staked BAWK tokens into that CRC. But you have to be quick! You can only invest into a CRC at the beginning of a season (which lasts four weeks).

On top of all of this, the Chicken Derby website has seem some major upgrades. Not only presenting a clean, easy to use interface, but also offering detailed stats for all the avid racers! And don’t forget the AI generated commentary that is now part of each race!

This is a major update for Chicken Derby. I like what they have done with their economy, but we’ll have to see if they can attract new players to their unique, chicken-racing game.

What is Chicken Derby?

Chicken Derby is a chicken racing simulation built on the Polygon network. Each Chicken is a unique NFT that can be entered into races for paid prizes. Every Chicken has a special Talent that can trigger during races. This can be something as simple as a short flight, or as extreme as creating a black hole! Each Chicken also has hidden preferences for track distance and terrain type as well as a Consistency rating. Players must discover these hidden preferences on their own.

With seven different types of terrain , six different track lengths, and twelve Chickens per race, each with their own preferences, abilities, and racing styles, Chicken Derby features enough variation to ensure that the race outcomes won’t be predetermined. There are also a number of ‘Easter Egg’ type bonuses that the team adds to the official documentation once the community figures it out. For example, Chickens with Alien Eyes get a boost to their Teleport ability (if they have it). Chicken owners can dress up their Chickens with a growing number of cosmetic items.

Though the races are passive, players can watch the animated simulation of the race and see all of the lead changes and abilities used during the run.

Owners with two many chickens can also choose to fuse them, creating a hybrid with potentially unique traits! Additional future features planned include breeding, a social hub, and land ownership.

Voxie Tactics sees a major upgrade this week as they officially launch their new game client, built with Unity. While not all functionality is available yet (such as NFT minting), the game works, players can use their NFTs, and VOXEL rewards continue to be handed out for match victories!

After many months of work, the Voxie Tactics team has finally released their rebuild of the Voxie Tactics game. This build is still the same game, and still compatible with existing Voxie NFTs. But it also brings improved graphics and stability, and supposedly, paves the way for releases of Voxie Tactics on MacOS and mobile platforms.

There is a very minor inconvenience for players. Existing players will need to re-link their accounts. Just make sure you use the same wallet you linked to the game before in order to preserve your previous game status.

Also, the Tavern and the Forge, utility pages on the Voxies Market website, are temporarily closed. The team is still integrating their functionality with the Unity build. But the player marketplace and the rental store are open and ready for use.

Now that they have the build launched in Unity, hopefully they will spend some time improving the interface and other quality of life issues. A little polish here could go a long way!

Voxie Tactics can be fun to play once you figure some things out. And Voxies is also one of those rare web3 games that pays players directly in tokens — though you do need to accumulate at least 10 VOXELS worth of winnings before you can claim. What is Voxie Tactics?

Voxie Tactics is a free to play, voxel-style, turn-based, fantasy, strategic battle game where two players field teams of three characters in a battle to the death! These characters move, fight, and cast spells across a battlefield map in an attempt to destroy the opposing team. The game features 10 different character races and 20 unique classes, each with their own powers and abilities.

Voxie Tactics is free to play, with play to earn potential starting with your first PvP match! Not only do your earn VOXELS tokens from winning matches, but you can also find equipment NFTs. And if that NFT doesn’t fit your characters or playstyle, then you can sell it on the marketplace.

Voxie Tactics includes a Forge, letting players upgrade their equipment by burning various game items, and an NFT rental system. So players don’t need to own any NFTs to start playing and earning!

Another playtest and another opportunity to play and earn! In this case, we have Farcana, a third-person, team-based, PvP battle game. With daily playtest windows open through May 4th, anyone with a PC can jump in and play, level up, an try to and grab a share of FAR tokens during this event!

Play to earn, play and earn, whatever you want to call it, is alive and well. And one of the latest examples comes from Farcana, who are holding a limited time playtest while giving participants a chance to earn some FAR tokens while playing!

The playtest opened on April 30th and runs through May 4th. Unfortunately, the game is only open for certain hours (5-11am CST) each day, so you’ll have to plan around that schedule if you want to participate.

During this playtest, 1 million FAR tokens are up for grabs. FAR is the utility token for Farcana. Players use it for crafting, buying season passes, purchasing premium NFTs, and staking, among other things.

During this playtest, players gain Particles for completing missions. Combine specific Particles to level up. Level up to climb the leaderboard to receive a share of the tokens.

Unfortunately, the event mission system is not integrated into the game. You have to visit https://platform.farcana.com/events/gateway-showdown to see your status. And then, you have to open up the Particles section, and click on each Particle to see the missions. And even then, the site is way behind on updates, so it’s not a real-time display. On the positive side, any Particles earned should just appear in your inventory once your mission achievements are processed.

This playtest introduces a new payload-style game mode where each team tries to push a cart to the end of the tracks. Gameplay is pretty smooth overall, and picking up on how to use the player abilities was an easy task. Farcana is already in a very playable state. With some game polish, integrated missions and tournaments, and additional variety with maps and character choices / customization, Farcana could claim a spot in the competitive, PVP web3 scene!

What is Farcana?

Farcana is a team-based, third-person, sci-fi themed shooter. Players group up in teams of four, each one choosing a specific character to play. These encompass the usual frontline fighter, damage dealer, rogue-type with swords, and a healer. Teams must work together to accomplish the map objectives and defeat the other team. Farcana will host seasonal events with battle passes and opportunities. for players to earn unique content and prizes.

The game studio has received backing from a number of investors including Animoca Brands.

Farcana currently has an NFT collection of Enigma Vaults, which receive airdropped (though vested) FAR tokens. Other NFTs such as weapon skins and custom emotes will be added later.

Though only in early access, Worldshards has already implemented the ability for players to find tradable NFTs in-game. But with a potential game wipe on the horizon, NFT holders don’t need to worry, as any NFTs found are theirs to keep!

At the moment, there isn’t any massive multiplayer in this web3-enabled, fantasy MMORPG. But we’re still just in the the first phase of early access. And though the multiplayer options aren’t yet available, Worldshards already has a very playable single-player game. To get into the early access playtest you will either need to own a land NFT or have an access key.

Worldshards follows the Big Time model. Players venture out into instanced areas, fighting hostile monsters, gathering resources, and sometimes completing special quests or puzzles along the way. These resources are then used to craft and build. Players can construct work stations on their private land, allowing for crafting of more powerful items.

Players go on adventures, craft items, build housing, place crafting stations, and craft better items so that they can go on tougher adventures for even better loot — and maybe even NFTs!

NFTs in Worldshards

At the moment, finding NFTs is random. They may come as drops from harvesting or defeating an enemy. These NFTs are blueprints for decorative items that can be placed in your base for no resource cost. Decorative NFTs increase the comfort level, allowing the construction of more uncomfortable things like workshops and refining stations. In a future update, players will also be able to trade and sell these blueprints.

Owning an Island NFT isn’t required to participate in the game. But the Island NFTs do provide more space for constructing your custom base, which means more room for workshop upgrades, which means a greater potential for producing valuable and rare items. Also, once multiplayer is released, players will be able to use their Islands as social hubs for guilds and friends. Additionally, there will likely be land rental options through Open Loot.

Some decorative NFTs were already distributed through giveaways. Those and land NFTs can be purchased on the Open Loot marketplace.

What is Worldshards?

Worldshards is a sandbox, fantasy, MMO game that will include both a web2 and a web3-enanbled version. Divided into a number of floating islands, the world of Murlandia, see players not only battling monsters and skilling up, but also sometimes solving puzzles or working out ways to peacefully solve situations to complete quests. Worldshards will include harvesting, crafting, farming, and player built structures.

Worldshards is building a sandbox-style game. One where players can craft and trade all of the items in the game, supporting a true player run economy.

Worldshards has decided to build two parallel versions of their game. One that supports web3 features, and one that remains firmly in the web2 world. Both versions will feature the same gameplay. The only differences are that the web2 version will be available on Steam, and the web3 version will allow players to buy, sell, and trade items as NFTs.
