As the Mocaverse network continues to grow – now entailing 1.8 million Moca ID holders – more benefits are rolling out exclusively to its community members. Animoca subsidiary developer nWay has unveiled Cosmic Bomber, a casual multiplayer game, which currently is available exclusively to Moca ID holders. 

Part of Mocaverse’s social game hub Cosmic Club, Cosmic Bomber features real-time PVP battles in which players strategically place explosive magic balloons to eliminate opponents. In terms of web3, it includes NFT characters and a game economy allowing players to earn, spend, and sell their in-game assets. 

While Cosmic Bomber beta season 1 has launched in partnership with Mocaverse, allowing players to earn Realm Points which can be used to unlock tournaments and climb leaderboards within Cosmic Club, at full launch the game will become available to everyone. There will be no requirement to own NFTs. The game offers dynamic seasons that regularly introduce new IPs, game characters and maps.

Boomland is migrating to Immutable zkEVM. And with this move comes a special, Hunters On-Chain, play to airdrop campaign with over 250 million BOOM tokens in rewards!

Fresh off of the Guild of Guardians launch, Immutable zkEVM already has another project lined up for release — Boomland Games. Their free to play, top-down, action-based, fantasy brawler, Hunters On-Chain is ready to move and relaunch on Immutable, offering over 250 million BOOM tokens in a two month, play to airdrop campaign!

BOOM is the primary ecosystem token for Boomland Games. It will be useful throughout all of their projects (which at the moment is only Hunters On-Chain), with both in-game and out of game use cases.

There will be two seasons for this campaign, each a month long. Season one begins in June.

And Boomland plans to make this a play-focused airdrop event. Users can earn points for completing Badges, finishing Quests, and Referring new players. Badges are in-game, one-time achievements for things such as owning specific hunters or doing a certain amount of damage to Kevin the Dragon. Quests are daily game tasks. And referrals, well, you know what referrals are. But aside from that, no other social engagement required. No Discord events or re-tweeting or any of that sort of stuff that often comes with these campaigns.

This first play to airdrop event will start everyone on equal footing. No existing Hunter NFTs may be used. The game is open to everyone at no cost. All players begin with just a single, common, free Hunter, and must use that to earn points until they can acquire a premium Hunter.

How to acquire a premium Hunter, you ask? Option One: Hold Genesis Hunters in your wallet by the time of the snapshot on May 27th, 3pm UTC. Players will receive one Premium Hunter for every Genesis Hunter they hold. Option 2: Participate and win in various contests and giveaways throughout the play to airdrop campaign. Option 3: Trade or Purchase one on the open market.

What is Hunters On-Chain

Hunters is a fantasy, top-down, casual, PVE action game with a couple of different game modes.

For PvE, each match features four players fighting monsters and leveling up. In Hunt mode, matches last for two minutes, with the top spot going to whoever has earned the most experience in that time, or whoever is the last survivor — whichever comes first. Each player starts the match at level 1 with full hit points. As they kill monsters and grab the stars that drop, players gain experience. Gain enough experience, and you level up, earning the right to choose between two, semi-random promotions. These promotions include standard power-ups such as increased damage, greater attack range, and more hit points, as well as special abilities like Damage Reflect and Demon Pact (sacrifice HP for more damage).

As the match goes on, the monsters get tougher. So players need to be active, get out on the battlefield, and increase their levels. At the center of the map lies a healing square that can be visited at any time.

Other game modes include Boss Hunt, which requires players to try and defeat a Boss dragon after leveling up, and Bounty Hunter, which is a 10 character, FFA fight with no level-ups during the match.

Players earn BGEM tokens from playing matches. They can then use BGEM to purchase chests containing random artifacts and hunter shards or swap them for BOOM tokens. Players need BOOM tokens and Hunter Shards to level up their Hunters.

Hunters On-Chain can be played through a webpage, or with the official app on Android and iOS devices.

Heroes of Mavia launched their Ruby Marketplace this week, opening up the way for the trading and minting of cosmetic skins directly within the game! And though currently this marketplace is only available in-game and only accepts Ruby tokens as payment, the Heroes team has plans to build a web-based marketplace as well.

A new feature rolled out to Heroes of Mavia this week, an in-game marketplace that allows for player trading of NFTs and the minting of new NFT skins! Known as the Ruby Marketplace, this in-game trading and minting hub brings a new feature to the game and a new use-case for the Ruby token.

Ruby is an in-game token only. Players earn Ruby by fighting with other players. And now they can spend that Ruby on exclusive skins from the in-game shop! Players will need to upgrade their HQ building to level 4 before they can access the Ruby Marketplace.

The Ruby Marketplace launched with a limited edition mint of 36 different skins, one for each troop and building type in game. These items feature a “SuperMavian” color scheme, and are limited to only 500 copies of each. These skins can be equipped in-game to change the appearance of your buildings and troops.

All Legendary level items sold on the Ruby Marketplace are NFTs on the Base blockchain. Once purchased, items from the Ruby Marketplace may be traded with other players.

This initial release is only available on mobile devices, and players can only trade using Ruby tokens. However, in the near future, there will also be a web-based version that allows trading with MAVIA tokens.

What is Heroes of Mavia?

Heroes of Mavia is a free to play, mobile, base building, RTS game. Players construct and improve bases, and fight with other players to earn RUBY, the main game currency. The game features upgradeable NFTs in the form of Bases, Heroes, and Statues. Bases are the core game component, and each player needs one in order to play. Heroes and Statues are optional, but both provide substantial benefits to your team. Heroes assist your army with attack and defense, while Statues boost base production. Additionally, players can upgrade their NFTs by spending RUBY tokens.

The game also includes Gold and Oil resources. These are in-game only and used for certain base upgrades. Oil and Gold are produced by bases and can also be stolen from other players in raids. And though the primary focus is on PvP, Heroes of Mavia also offers a lengthy series of PvE missions to help players practice battles and accumulate extra resources.

Heroes of Mavia included rental mechanics into their game from the very beginning. Base owners can choose to rent out their bases to other players for passive income. This can be a fixed price rental system, or a ‘partnership’. Partnerships function as a built-in scholarship system. The base owner lets the partner run and upgrade their base in exchange for a percentage of the RUBY income.

Another playtest and another opportunity to play and earn! In this case, we have Farcana, a third-person, team-based, PvP battle game. With daily playtest windows open through May 4th, anyone with a PC can jump in and play, level up, an try to and grab a share of FAR tokens during this event!

Play to earn, play and earn, whatever you want to call it, is alive and well. And one of the latest examples comes from Farcana, who are holding a limited time playtest while giving participants a chance to earn some FAR tokens while playing!

The playtest opened on April 30th and runs through May 4th. Unfortunately, the game is only open for certain hours (5-11am CST) each day, so you’ll have to plan around that schedule if you want to participate.

During this playtest, 1 million FAR tokens are up for grabs. FAR is the utility token for Farcana. Players use it for crafting, buying season passes, purchasing premium NFTs, and staking, among other things.

During this playtest, players gain Particles for completing missions. Combine specific Particles to level up. Level up to climb the leaderboard to receive a share of the tokens.

Unfortunately, the event mission system is not integrated into the game. You have to visit https://platform.farcana.com/events/gateway-showdown to see your status. And then, you have to open up the Particles section, and click on each Particle to see the missions. And even then, the site is way behind on updates, so it’s not a real-time display. On the positive side, any Particles earned should just appear in your inventory once your mission achievements are processed.

This playtest introduces a new payload-style game mode where each team tries to push a cart to the end of the tracks. Gameplay is pretty smooth overall, and picking up on how to use the player abilities was an easy task. Farcana is already in a very playable state. With some game polish, integrated missions and tournaments, and additional variety with maps and character choices / customization, Farcana could claim a spot in the competitive, PVP web3 scene!

What is Farcana?

Farcana is a team-based, third-person, sci-fi themed shooter. Players group up in teams of four, each one choosing a specific character to play. These encompass the usual frontline fighter, damage dealer, rogue-type with swords, and a healer. Teams must work together to accomplish the map objectives and defeat the other team. Farcana will host seasonal events with battle passes and opportunities. for players to earn unique content and prizes.

The game studio has received backing from a number of investors including Animoca Brands.

Farcana currently has an NFT collection of Enigma Vaults, which receive airdropped (though vested) FAR tokens. Other NFTs such as weapon skins and custom emotes will be added later.

Arenas have arrived in Dimension X, bringing with them a chance for players to compete in evenly matched bouts for special prizes which could include crafting materials, power tokens, or even blockchain tokens!

Dimension X is free to play, so there is no barrier preventing you from jumping in and trying out their new arena mode. In fact, everyone has access to the same hero pool in arena competitions, so it doesn’t even matter if you are a brand new player!

Joining Arena quests is free. Just look for the quest with the arena icon with the X on it. Once you join, you recruit your team, place your heroes, and then wait for the results.

And while you’re waiting for the arena results, you might as well join in on some other quests! Quests in Dimension X are competitions with other players. Each quest has a time limit and a leaderboard. When the quest timer runs out, players are rewarded based on their placement on the leaderboard for that quest. Rewards are given based on overall placement, and percentage placement (ie, you get an extra reward for placing in the top 10% of players in regards to damage done). Some quests even give out rewards to all of the participants!

Players earn experience, faction points, and various resources when completing quests. This includes THUL tokens, used for minting new heroes, and Tech tokens, used to upgrade Hero powers.

Dimension X is free to play. And you can choose to play on either the Flow or the main Ethereum network. On the Flow network, you will need is a Dapper account, which can be easily set up with an Apple or Google login, or with an email address. The Ethereum side works with Metamask.

What is Dimension X?

Dimension X is a web-based strategy game that sees players setting up teams of heroes, to fight against fearsome creatures. Players assemble their teams, trying to generate the best damage combination possible and earn a spot on the quest leaderboard. Players can claim rewards based on their placement during these quest challenges.

New players start with a selection of free Heroes and can find more as they play. Heroes can only be active on one quest at a time. So checking in regularly and building a large stable of heroes will help you progress faster.

Players can earn resources, faction points, tokens, and hero experience from quests. That can also find and craft gear. Gear is bound to a hero once equipped. But it can be overwritten with new items. At the end of the season, all items and materials are deleted, but Heroes retain legacy bonuses from any equipped items as permanent enhancements to the character. This allows players to continue to grow their character power between seasons, even with item wipes!

And for those who want that extra edge, you can buy NFT heroes on both the Flow and Ethereum chains. NFT owners will need to stake their NFTs in order to use them in-game, though they can be unstaked at any time.

With character abilities, powers, affinities, gears, factions, linked squares, and more, Dimension X has plenty of room for strategic decision making and planning.
