In the latest episode of the Blockchain Gaming World podcast, editor-in-chief Jon Jordan talks to Foonie Magus CEO Frank Cheng about the inspirations behind deck-building dungeon battle RTS Apeiron, which is currently available via Epic Games Store.

The game is expected to go live via mobile app stores before the end of 2024, while its meta-level god gameplay is due to be added in 2025.

BlockchainGamer: Can you tell us a bit about your career so far?

Frank Chen: I founded this company eight years ago. Before that I was a management consultant and a private equity investor, but I’ve loved games throughout my life and it’s been a childhood dream to create my own game. So after many, many years I decided to pursue my dream. It’s been quite a bumpy journey, I’ve found out that game development is actually a lot tougher than playing the game. 

Apeiron was the dream game I wanted to create. After gathering a lot of experience and prototyping, it finally went to production and became a blockchain game three years ago. Nowadays it’s actually more than a blockchain game, it’s a full IP franchise that involves merchandise, animations, and a plushie collection. It’s been a wild journey.

Witnessing the potential that Axie Infinity and CryptoKitties had changed what I believed to be a perfect mobile game into a fully fledged blockchain game. The first six years flew by, but I have learned even more in the three short years I’ve been into blockchain. 

Foonie Magus is the developer behind the game. Does the name have a meaning, or is it just a random name?

The core development team in Hong Kong is called Aither Entertainment, but Foonie Magus is our publishing entity in Singapore. The name comes from Foonie, which is my son’s nickname, and Magus is one of my favorite characters from Square Enix’s Chrono Trigger, one of the best RPGs in the world.

How would you explain Apeiron as a concept? It has hybrid game synergies and a lot going on, so how did that vision come about?

The genre I would call it nowadays would be a hybrid RTS because the core gameplay is a combination of two unique real-time strategy games. One is a god game simulation, while the other is like a card-based battle. So, I wanted to try something new, to find a gameplay element that I sorely miss, and that’s the card game simulation.

Many developers and of course, my co-founders, are the ones with actual development experience who come up with many other parts of the games and elements. Battle being one of those because for mobile, monetization, PvP, marketability are definitely needed. The card-based elements also came quite late. After witnessing Axie Infinity. 

If we can utilize NFTs and onchain elements, card collection is very powerful and shares a lot of synergy with what game business and collectible models are like. 

Then you also have this god game element. How does that come into play?

The whole theme of Apeiron is that you play God, in a universe of gods and dudes. Dudes are these yellow, chubby creatures. I wanted to recreate something like Black & White and Spore. 

It’s a story in the game, you’re a god, you have your own planets. Your planets are populated by the dudes, and it’s your job to take care of them. How you manage your planets, how you answer their prayers will translate to different types of buildings that they build for you and even good and evil elements such as heaven or hell will be implemented. All these are translated into stats that you have in battle. 

Currently you’ve got a PC version which is the dungeon battle gameplay. The god element still isn’t playable. Is that correct?

Yep. Right now, Apeiron consists of three main gameplay elements. There’s the god game simulation, which is the planet simulation. The other two are the roguelike dungeon and the PvP arena, which make the battle side of the equation. 

In the current PC version, you can play the dungeon, PvP arena, and the story mode, but the god game sim will come after the mobile release. We created the battle version first because the whole token economy revolves around the PVP arena and daily leaderboards. 

Do you think Apeiron’s different game elements will appeal to different sorts of behaviour?

Ultimately, an app around different types of gameplay elements generate different types of resources that’s tradable. So in a guild of players, if you want to focus on the simulation and just build a planet, you can get that and trade that with other players who dedicate themselves to the PvP arena but don’t want to spend too much time in the dungeon or in the card game. I think that’s how we get different groups of players.

The card game simulation is a unique proposition of gameplay and graphics, which will attract a lot of users. Ultimately, in terms of longevity and sustainability, what attracts users in the first place versus what really sustains the economy and keeps the marketability going will be rather different. 

It was a tough decision, but my team told me we had to do the battle gameplay first instead of the card game. And I believe they are right, otherwise it would just be a simulation game that keeps grinding NFTs and tokens without much need to really compete and burn stuff.

For building an audience, the battle side is the more immediately appealing element for players. How have you found having that demo live? 

Indeed. It first came out as a dungeon mode with basic run features and then we incorporated multiple bosses, a roguelike structure to it. Then earlier this year we launched the PvP arena, which is when it really started picking up, especially coupled with our migration to Ronin. 

That attracted a lot of competitive players from Axie Infinity, who have contributed a lot in terms of balancing blockchain features and reward structures. Now that we have combined the dungeon, the PvP, and the story elements, we’re just a stone’s throw away from launching a much more complete version of the mobile game. That’s coming in a few months. 

We will also have features like the battle pass and the shop, which will help players journey their way into the Apeiron game.

Originally you were running on Polygon. You mentioned Axie Infinity as something that was inspirational for the project, so was it an obvious decision to move to Ronin? 

Indeed migrating to another chain, even if it’s EVM to EVM, often takes several months of efforts and a new auditing. But the way we view chains is sort of like a publisher on a console. 

We were looking for a more game-focused chain. Initially, Polygon was a game-focused chain as well, but I think they gradually grew in size and started diverting resources, so they couldn’t spend too much time with individual projects. 

Naturally, it came down to Ronin and Immutable, both really good gaming chains. We chose Ronin for many reasons. One is that we play a lot of Axie Infinity ourselves, so we’re familiar with the Ronin wallet. They have a good mobile wallet, especially for gamers and with their experience, their crowd, and the way our game is structured, it’s easy to find a similar audience there even in bad times. 

The decision was finalised after meeting Ronin’s management team. They’re very picky and I like that. A lot of investors typically just look at valuations and then decide without really looking into the game, the viability, the marketability. But they did their due diligence. They looked into every aspect of the game and its potential before making that decision. 

At the moment it seems Ronin is the one chain where you can launch a game and get around a hundred thousand daily wallets. It’s not like you get that for free, but the choice of chain seems to matter.

Indeed. Well, the Ronin crowd is large and noisy. But at the same time, they are also veterans in the space, they know what’s up, they’ve survived the waves. 

But to be honest, in web3, there’s a lot of grinders, even multi-accounts. I don’t think that’s just Ronin. Everywhere there’s a lot of bloated numbers. But as you can see in terms of retention and gameplay numbers, Ronin has a strong and sizeable crowd compared to most. 

Your demo is live on Epic Game Store, and you’re looking to get the mobile game out before the end of the year. Do you see that as a big lever for growth? 

Getting on Google Play and Apple App Store is the most important thing a browser game can do in order to reach the mainstream audience. Getting on all the platforms first, at least abiding by the rules of making sure that we can be published and be accessible is extremely important. Once we have that, it comes down to a lot of marketing.

Having experienced two years of up and down in the blockchain and gaming industry, I think there’s two things we can do. We can conserve all our capital for a bull market. But one of the main problems of crypto is that for the past two years at least, there’s really not that many new retail gamers or users. Trying to fight for the attention or the revenue from this group, at least from Apeiron’s perspective, is not really worth it. There will always be more casual and hyper casual games coming out with airdrops. 

Apeiron, being a micro game with much longer development and iterative cycles, should not be competing for the next hype and airdrop. We should focus on mainstream gamers and a mobile launch is definitely one of the biggest opportunities we will focus on. 

After that, we have our god game launch, but that’s more on the Steam side of things. 

So far there hasn’t really been much interest from general game publishers in publishing web3 games. What’s your view on that?

Yes, there’s yet to be a really successful game out there, even with big publishers, but I think it’s only a matter of time before they get more involved. But at the same time, publishing blockchain games is rather controversial. They would like to test it in small bytes and digestible versions. 

Well, I don’t see web3 as a very strong marketability in terms of mainstream audience. It adds a different layer of gameplay and revenue source. But going with the same gameplay mechanics in a different wrapper by saying there’s blockchain elements, should not, and will not, be enough to gain a lot of users. 

We’ve put a lot of effort into improving and innovating new types of gameplay, artwork, the story, and features to attract users in traditional gaming. The blockchain element is there. It’s not needed for players to play, but if they want to, they will discover better ways to pay for in-game currencies, and other ways to engage with the game. 

You mentioned the rules of the app stores. Apart from with Steam, on the PC side you can do whatever you want, within certain constraints, I guess…?

Not really. In terms of these large distribution platforms, the one rule is that the game that’s downloaded cannot drop NFTs or tokens directly. 

The actual minting and claiming token rewards must be off Google Store or Steam or a web store. But these policies change all the time and hopefully we can steer clear of everything and remain there.

What do you think about the Apeiron IP and the opportunities it provides?

From an Asian perspective, developing an IP typically revolves around ACG – animation, cartoons, comics and games. 

Hong Kong developers are very much like Japanese developers, they really like animation, so that’s something we’ll work on. In terms of the IP franchise, I think it works well with blockchain, because having a recognizable brand and digital ownership fit well together. 

Alos, we’re not tied to just a single game. We can develop other mobile games, which is actually one of our plans down the line. We’ll do a mini game with shorter iteration cycles when there is a good hype running. 

In terms of acquiring users, the main thing we want to do is animation. That’s where you can reach more audiences and bring them into multiple parts of the game.

The latest blockchain game to make the move to Ronin is RPG Tatsumeeko, which started life as a Discord-based IP, before minting NFTs on Immutable and Solana.

Developed by Singapore-based Tatsu Works, the game is planned to release on Ronin via PC and mobile in Q4 2024.

The original incarnation of the game world launched in 2016 as Tatusu.GG, which featured collection and idle RPG mechanics, and which has reportedly been integrated in over 1.5 million Discord communities, with over 60 million lifetime interacting accounts.

Now called Tatsumeeko: Lumina Fates, the new game is the outworking of that Discord-based foundation. Labelled as a RPG with life sim elements, it mixes turn-based auto combat with cozy housing gameplay.

Prior to the release on Ronin, Tatsu Works will be launching the Telegram-based Lumina Hunt mini-game, by which players can collect Vabloon points as they contribute to the in-game V-Squads. Players could receive a token allocation, as well as game items and currencies.

“We’re excited to partner with Ronin as we prepare for the full launch of Tatsumeeko later this year,” said Tatsu Works’ CEO David Lim.

“Our goal is to unify web2 and web3 gaming by allowing our massive Discord community to explore the potential of blockchain technology through our life simulation RPG. We believe Tatsumeeko and Ronin together offer the perfect platform for this.”

Similar to other gaming-dedicated blockchains, Sky Mavis’ Ronin chain is the latest to launch its own cross-game onboarding solution. 

Called Ronin Waypoint, the tech essentially lets players access games on Ronin through a single account credential using email or social logins, without the need for seed phrases or browser extensions. It leverages Multi-Party Computation (MPC) technology to create secure keyless wallets in the background.

Using Ronin Waypoint, users can trade, swap and mint assets across Ronin’s partner games from their account. Already live in Axie Classic, the next game to integrate the solution is Axie Origins, followed by other ecosystem games. It also works cross-platform, and is currently available on Unity, Telegram, iOS and Android.

Clunky onboarding is often cited as a general pain point in for web3 games, contributing to its slow adoption. However, despite having lacked a frictionless onboarding solution until now, Ronin has managed to become the most popular blockchain in terms of active users. With the integration of Ronin Waypoint, and its inherent gas-free in-game transactions, Sky Mavis hopes to boost player engagement further. 

“It’s becoming increasingly evident that there is a disconnect between Western capital allocation in crypto and the active user base from emerging economies like Southeast Asia and Latin America, where many of Ronin’s users are located,” commented Sky Mavis CGO Jeff Zirlin.

“Web3 gaming still holds significant potential for mass crypto adoption, and we believe that the launch of Ronin Waypoint is the next step towards this vision.”

 

In the still early days of blockchain games, only a dozen titles can celebrate their second birthday. Now it’s time for Sky Mavis to mark the occasion since the reboot of Axie Infinity.

Originally launched in 2018, Axie Infinity was then revamped, with a particular focus on more sustainable tokenomics, and re-released on the 14th September 2022 in the shape of Axie Origins. To clarify, it’s worth pointing out that the game is still generally referred to as Axie Infinity.

As a way of thanking its loyal players, Sky Mavis has announced it will be giving away rewards such as AXP boosters, Moonshards, and other exclusive limited-edition prizes like an avatar, sticker, and more. Users have to log in for 9 consecutive days, starting 11th September, to claim all of them. 

In conjunction with the 2-year rewards campaign, Axie Infinity is also kicking off season 10. This features an additional 24,000 AXS ($100,000) prize pool.

As for Axie Infinity’s recent game performance, daily active users have steadily increased since its introduction of Bounty Boards in April 2024. Prior to this, DAUWs remained between 10,000-20,000, whereas today it’s around 80,000-mark. 

More generally, Sky Mavis’ Ronin blockchain continues to be the one on which games are finding a decent audience of players and token claimers. Apart from the long-reigning web3 game with the most daily active users, social RPG Pixels, other games on Ronin including Apeiron, Wild Forest and Lummiterra have also gained recent traction.

Ronin currently has 27 million total lifetime wallets.

Two months after releasing its meta-changing chapter 2 update, social RPG Pixels has announced its PIXEL token will be listed on crypto exchange OKX. 

In conjunction with the listing, the team has also launched a time-limited quest giving players a chance to get an OKX-themed hat and win one of five OKX-themed pixel pets.

More generally, Pixels has steadily picked up momentum in terms of daily active accounts following the 69% drop it experienced due to clearing out bot activity as part of its latest major update in June. Currently, it has 712,672 DAA, with total lifetime wallets on Ronin exceeding 6 million.

This accounts for 23% of the now almost 26 million total lifetime wallets on the Ronin network.

As of late, the game has also been successful in its aim to build self-sustaining ecosystem loops. Earlier in July it ran a profit-generating Guild Wars event. While 485,000 PIXEL were rewarded, 524,390 PIXEL were burned/locked, and 3.4 billion in-game tokens were burned. 

Moreover, a recent community event reached 70,000 concurrent real in-game players.

In terms of future plans, the team is continuing to rework the game’s rewards structure, which remains focused on reducing bot activity. It will change taskboard tasks and introduce taskboard segmentation, which will tailor PIXEL rewards based on player behaviour as a measure to tackle bots. Additionally, it’s looking to introduce a wallet data reader that can analyze metrics like player history across multiple games and asset ownership to make it harder for bots to operate.

Ronin-based god battler Aperion has announced its Season 3 open beta will launch on 22nd August.

Available for PC and Mac, via Epic Game Store and Mavis Hub, the release will bring together the complete flow of the game’s real-time battle features as players move through the tutorial to completing difficulty-graded PVE dungeons and unlocking PVP arenas.

As well as enabling players to hunt and mint apostle NFT support characters, the Season 3 release will also see the release of four gameplay currencies, which underpin the game’s power progression for the apostles.

• Unpurified gold is a reward for winning battles that is the main currency used in dungeon shops.
• Unpurified souls are gained by selling unwanted apostles in dungeons and converted to soul gems.
• Soul gems are spent to enhance your apostles’ skills and buy into new dungeon runs.
• Souls are used to reset your apostles’ age and acquired by selling unwanted apostles in your hub.

Players will be able to bring up to four apostles into a dungeon, with an additional two slots for apostles rescued in dungeons.

Exceeding both TRON and Solana, Sky Mavis’ Ronin blockchain recently grabbed the top spot in terms of daily active wallets, recording over 2 million on 26th July. Its total lifetime wallets are now over 23 million. So what’s driving the growth?

Despite a significant drop-off of daily active players in June, social RPG Pixels remains the top game on Ronin. Currently with up to 750,000 DAUWs, no other game on the blockchain is near.

However, other apps on Ronin are contributing to the current surge. Next after Pixels, data-sharing gaming protocol Carv, which announced its integration with Ronin earlier in 2024, is the top-rated app with more than 260,000 DAUWs. Carv is currently driving activity via its SOUL airdrop campaign, which lets users earn SOUL – that can later be converted to CARV tokens – for binding new users and their data to various networks, including Ronin.

With its $1 million Apeiron Guild Wars tournament running through the summer, hybrid PC god game Apeiron is also driving significant traffic, currently with around 100,000 DAUWs.

As for Sky Mavis’s own Axie Infinity, the company’s Q2 2024 update showed the game’s audience increased by 200% thanks to the release of Bounty Boards in May and a collaborative effort with Coinbase’s Learn & Earn campaign in June, which resulted in a significant influx of new wallets.

Around the 40,000 DAUW mark, as per data from DappRadar, sits mobile RTS Wild Forest which recently launched globally, and has just completed its play-to-airdrop season 2.

PC-based top-down 4V4 hero shooter The Machines Arena from Icelandic/Chinese developer Directive Games has also generated some interestlately. Ahead of the TMA token launch, the game is kicking off its play-to-airdrop campaign on 30th July, through which players can earn TMA tokens through quests, NFT minting and gameplay. 

While Directive Games was one of the initial thirdparty developers to join Ronin in 2023, more recent games on the network include Fight League, which is adding to the growing activity with its free NFT mint on Ronin coming up 31st July.

In addition, MMORPGs Lumiterra and Forgotten Runiverse, both which announced their move to Ronin in June 2024, have imminent closed beta tests launching on the network within the next week.

Continuing to expand in terms of new games added to Ronin, Sky Mavis has also noted growth when it comes to its own games, including Axie Infinity, Axie Classic, and Homeland.

As of its H1 2024 report, the Axie ecosystem experienced two significant peaks. In April, the launch of the new rewards-based Axie quest system Bounty Board led to the growth of over 37,000 new unique users.

In June, the influx mainly came from the company’s partnership with Coinbase’s Learn and Earn campaign – a joint initiative to engage users in educational quests including buying NFTs while rewarding them with RON tokens. As a result, Axie NFT trading volume shot up.

In terms of the games, Sky Mavis highlights its Part Evolution launch in late 2023 as a contributing factor to the growth of Axie Infinity. Also, between season 7 and 9, the in-game prize pools were increased from 63,000 to 81,133 AXS. Notably, the rewards were distributed among more players. 

The game currently has 55,000 daily active users and 150,000 monthly active user wallets, although during the first half of 2024 it did peak at 79,300 DAUWs and 248,000 MAUWs.

Not on the same scale but nonetheless noteworthy, during H1 2024 Axie Classic also saw a revival. New features released included AXP rewards, gold, chests, the Cursed Coliseum mode, and Grand Tournaments.

In April, the game kicked off its Axie Classic Competitive Circuit featuring a 57,000 AXS prize pool, including 12 seasons of guild leaderboard, Guild Wars, and the Axie Classic Guild World Cup, all resulting in Axie Classic’s DAUW hitting 45,000, up by 190% during H1.

In terms of Axie Homeland, its 2024 reboot was not as well received however. As part of mending the problems and realigning with the community, the team is currently working on two new major updates in the game, including replacing existing NPC characters with Axie NFTs.

Finally, the team also launched its new governance system, featuring an Axie Governance Portal. I order to reward community members’ contributions to the Axie ecosystem, Axie Score was also introduced. 

Filipino crypto exchange Coins.ph has joined forces with Sky Mavis, launching its Philippine Peso stablecoin PHPC on the Ronin blockchain.

Fully regulated and backed by the Philippine Central Bank (the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas), Coins.ph is set to pilot the PHPC stablecoin under the BSP’s Regulatory Sandbox Framework.

PHPC will join USDC as the second stablecoin on the Ronin blockchain.

Founded in 2014, Coins.ph claims over 18 million accounts in total, including 7 million monthly active users, which would be six percent of the Philippine’s 116 million total population. 

Notably, the country has also played a major role in the growth of blockchain gaming, contributing significantly to the breakthrough of Sky Mavis’ flagship game Axie Infinity in late 2021.

Sky Mavis now hopes that providing the ability for users to cash-out in-game earnings, transfer funds or use crypto for in-store payments, PHPC on Ronin can become a valuable financial asset for millions of web3 gamers in the Philippines. With PHPC deposits and withdrawals now live on both Coins.ph and the Ronin Wallet, the team is also looking towards a future listing of PHPC/RON on the Ronin-based decentralized exchange Katana.

“With the Philippines being the epicenter of web3 gaming adoption, it was important for us to make PHPC available on Ronin, the largest web3 gaming chain in the world. Many Filipinos and Coins.ph customers use Ronin and there are a number of areas Ronin and Coins are looking to collaborate on when it comes to using PHPC for transfers, payments, trading and more,” commented Coins.ph CEO Wei Zhou. 

“The Philippines is the beating heart of web3 gaming. We are thrilled that CoinsPH has decided to launch PHPC on Ronin. With this move, Ronin is ascending beyond its original mandate as a gaming chain and entering the realm of real-world payments and merchant transactions,” said Sky Mavis co-founder Jeff Zirlin. 

How do you measure the success of a gaming blockchain? While there are various metrics to look at, one in particular is the number of total lifetime wallets signed up to the network.

To that end, at the start of June we looked at data tracking the number of total user wallets for the top gaming blockchains. As expected, Ronin came out the clear leader with its more than 20 million wallets, mainly thanks to its historic Axie Infinity activities.

But how did that number change during the month?

Total wallets on Ronin were up 5%, surpassing 21 million. The most popular game currently live on the network, social RPG Pixels, has accumulated 5 million in lifetime wallets, although its active users decreased significantly in June due to the game’s Chapter 2 update. The main reason behind the fall off in DAUW is the developer’s intentional measures against bot activity, which clearly seems to be working. Interestingly, it also indicates how widespread bots are within web3 games.

Instead Immutable was the biggest gainer, with total user wallets up around 30% during the month, breaking 4 million. This was mainly driven by new games such as Hunters On-Chain and Guild of Guardians and their ongoing play-to-airdrop events. New playtests and forthcoming game launches as well as Immutable’s own The Main Quest campaign also contributed to the influx of new users. 

Significantly, Immutable’s active user wallets also shot up, from 180,000 at the start of June to over 300,000 towards the end, 26th June more exactly.

Alongside picking up new active players, Immutable is also coming out on top in terms of the number of new games added to the network. While the company itself claims a total of +330 games, 167 are officially listed on Big Blockchain Game List, including games deploying on multiple chains in addition to Immutable. During Q2 2024, 25 new games which are deploying exclusively on Immutable were added to the Big List.

In contrast, despite having the largest amount of active players, Ronin only has 16 official ecosystem games.

No notable changes in wallet activity were tracked among Wemix’s current 1.2 million total wallets, or Mythos’ 800,000. Mythical Games CEO John Linden has recently spoken about the imminent migration of Mythos from Ethereum to Polkadot, which might bring new users to the ecosystem. 

Notably, Arbitrum-based gaming L3 Xai now boasts 1.5 million lifetime wallets. Meanwhile newcomer Sonic, which is a gaming-specific Solana-based L2 rollup recently announced it’s reached a milestone of 300,000 wallets signing up. Japanese gaming blockchain Oasys remained around 50,000 total user wallets.

As its beta phase draws to a close, game developer Zillion Whales has unveiled details of the upcoming launch of web3 RTS Wild Forest across PC and mobile app stores. 

In conjunction with the global launch, it’s also kicking off season 2 of its play-to-airdrop campaign, entailing 2.5x rewards than the first season. By completing in-game missions and climbing the leaderboard, players can become eligible of the forthcoming WF token community round. Another way to get access to the WF airdrop is by staking your Lord NFTs for 90 days.

In soft launch since November 2023, Wild Forest launched its inaugural NFTs on Ronin in February 2024. However, as the Wild Forest beta phase is about to end, certain game assets will become useless. In order to tackle this, the team has launched Forge, a feature effectively letting users turn their old beta assets into Essence. This resource can then be used to acquire new useful items in the game’s Forge Shop, which is set to go live soon following the game launch in early July. 

Currently, Forge allows items such as Beta Units, including both in-game Units and Unit NFTs, to be converted. In addition, broken NFTs, and both offchain and onchain Release Units can be burned. As the game progresses, more items will qualify for burning.

The amount of Essence a user gets is based on their current rank and level in the game, with the ratio being

• Common Release Unit: 100 Essence
• Uncommon Release Unit: 260 Essence
• Rare Release Unit: 640 Essence
• Epic Release Unit: 2 220 Essence
• Legendary Release Unit: 10 080 Essence

Also worth pointing out is that following the official Wild Forest launch, users will have 4 weeks to convert their beta items, after which Release Units will be burned and Beta Units become non-usable.

Earn Alliance has announced a partnership with Sky Mavis, entailing an integration of Ronin-based games within its web3 gaming discovery platform.

Described as an “engagement as a service” platform” – Earn Alliance claims to have 500,000 verified gamers. With this latest integration, its users will be introduced to games on Ronin including Pixels, Lumiterra, Ragnarok Monster World, The Machines Arena, Kaidro, Axie Classic, and Puffverse – starting with a dedicated Ronin Week on Monday 24th June.

For each of the 7 days during Ronin Week, a new game will be highlighted. The event consists of daily missions through which participants can earn exclusive badges and rewards. In addition to social engagement challenges, players can also earn rewards through in-game missions. While the games themselves are where users can complete most of the missions, Earn Alliance will elaborate on some of the challenges in its live show “The Wall”, which will also feature guests from the Ronin team.

The partnership is announced at the heels of Earn Alliance’s recent staffing revamp. Notably, it’s hired entertainment-industry veteran Kimberly Knoller as new Chief Marketing Officer, while gaming veteran Graeme Griffin is the team’s new Head of Gaming, and software engineer and gaming veteran Amit Goel onboards as Director of Product (Ad Tech).
