CEO of The Sandbox, Mathieu Nouzareth, explains his view on the metaverse and how it is not being affected by the crypto bear market.
Not only that, even the CEO of Meta Platform, Mark Zuckerberg, said he envisions a billion people making hundreds of dollars in the new dimension.
The Sandbox: the CEO explains how the crypto bear market does not affect the metaverse
According to reports, The Sandbox CEO Mathieu Nouzareth explained his view on the metaverse and how the bear market trend in cryptocurrencies, the so-called “crypto winter,” does not affect the blockchain game.
In his interview at the NFT.NYC conference, here is how Nouzareth described his thoughts on the matter:
“The Sandbox hasn’t really been impacted, and the reason I think is because we’re a game, and games are less impacted by a macroeconomic environment,” Mathieu Nouzareth told Insider. “People come because it’s really a ton of fun, anyone can enjoy it. […] I’ve seen five of these [downturns]. But if you keep your head down and focus on building, in two, three years, we will see some massive, amazing companies that will emerge after this”.
Nouzareth, a 27-year-old entrepreneur, noted that, as has been the case before, the bearish trend in crypto has not affected the number of people visiting the metaverse, but rather, it appears that the right users continue to flock to The Sandbox because they are not the ones interested in an easy money-making scheme.
With its celebrated partnerships, The Sandbox aims to become the “Manhattan of the metaverse”, a concentration of exciting brands and artists.

Mark Zuckerberg envisions the metaverse opening a massive economy
CEO of Meta Platform, Mark Zuckerberg, also shared his vision for the metaverse in an interview with CNBC, explaining that he envisions a billion people making hundreds of dollars in the new dimension.
Here are his words:
“We hope to basically get to around a billion people in the metaverse doing hundreds of dollars of commerce, each buying digital goods, digital content, different things to express themselves, so whether that’s clothing for their avatar or different digital goods for their virtual home or things to decorate their virtual conference room, utilities to be able to be more productive in virtual and augmented reality and across the metaverse overall”.
Experiences in the metaverse can be more immersive than text, photos or videos, which are present on Facebook and Instagram, and thus will be a major theme for Meta in the next decade, Zuckerberg said.
The expectations for Meta’s CEO on the metaverse are very clear. Zuckerberg, in fact, claims that the economy of the metaverse is huge.
Recently, Meta joined with Epic Games, Adobe, Microsoft, Sony and many other tech giants to launch the Metaverse Standards Forum to create an interconnected and open system on the metaverse.
