Shortly after being allowed to explore options, Yike has found a new home for the 2025 LEC Season: Karmine Corp.
Yike to complete the Karmine Corp lineup for the next season
It hasn’t been even two weeks since G2, the last LEC team, was eliminated at Worlds 2024 yet we have had plenty of roster moves being confirmed. And the latest one is a big one.
Former G2 jungler Martin “Yike” Sundelin has reached a verbal agreement to play for Karmine Corp (KC) in the upcoming season. According to a report by Sheep Esports, the jungler was KC’s first choice and was approached after G2 allowed both him and Mikyx to explore their options without a buyout. Other teams such as GIANTX and Rogue were interested in the player, with the former even making an offer to Yike. That said, the Swedish player has decided to join the French organization led by Kameto.
From a rookie to one of the top junglers in the LEC
Yike joined G2 ahead of the 2023 season as the newest rising talent from the ERLs. After showing impressive dominance in the LFL on the LDLC OL, he quickly gained interest from the top teams and was immediately picked up by G2 to replace Jankos.
Despite being the only rookie on the team and with big shoes to fill, Yike was able to impress, winning several domestic titles and earning the Rookie of the Year Award. Unfortunately, he and the rest of G2 weren’t able to get the best results at Worlds in the past two years, being eliminated in the last round of the Swiss stage.
With G2 looking to shake things up with its lineup by bringing another ERL prodigy, SkewMond, Yike had to find a new home. Luckily for him, his performance as well as achievements were more than enough to quickly gain interest from other squads. Now that Yike has joined KC, their lineup for 2025 is completed, with the team looking to improve this year’s performance:
- Top: Kim “Canna” Chang-dong
- Jungle: Martin “Yike” Sundelin
- Mid: Vladimiros “Vladi” Kourtidis
- ADC: Caliste “Caliste” Henry-Hennebert
- Support: Raphaël “Targamas” Crabbé
